Where can I go to find out which park on which days stay open 3 hours after the park officially closes for the Extra Magic Hours? :hourglass

adding......sometimes they vary from the schedule.

Ok I"m still confused. I went to the link and saw the hours. Do the parks close early to the general publc and close at the normal time or stay open till mid-night. The hours look the same as any other night. HELP!

With the Evening Extra Hours, the park will remain open for 3 extra hours. Before this time, if you are a Disney resort guest, you need to obtain a wristband (by showing your room key). This wristband allows you to still ride the rides after the park closing. (Ex: park closes at 10pm, but remains open for 3 hours for resort guests). I do believe they will allow the park shops and eateries open for non-resort guests..they won't be able to ride unless they got a resort wristband. Hope this helps!

Well, we did Epcot on Feb. 8th. After Illuminations, resort guests could get wrist bands for the attractions. Wrist bands were given out in several places prior to closing time & you had to show your resort card. Then a few attractions and some restaurants stayed open, most for three extra hours. We noticed two of the counter service restaurants were closed by 10:30. ??? So that night, Epcot was open till midnight, or three hours after regular closing time of 9 pm.

We didn't do any early hours, so I can't help you there.

How long are the lines to get the wristbands? Can I get wristbands for my family if they are not in line with me? Oh! I would have their resort cards with me to show proof.

does anyone have an idea when they will be out for July?? I hope hope hope they are out before the 90 day PS-making frenzy!!!!!!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc

you can not get wristbands for your family, they (CM's) want to personally attach the wristband to each person. We were required to show license & resort key.

Lastly, we did not experience any long lines for the wrist bands, and we hit each park. Some people on the board have said that they had long lines, so take that into account.

My biggest gripe about the EMH is that (at least during February), a lot of the carts, and some of the shops close up. Additionally, places like WWTBAM had it's last show at something like 6 or 6:30, and Walt Disney - a man and his dream also closed at the same time. MGM was open until 10pm that night. So, in places like EPCOT (and MGM), you basically have a handful of things to do, and EVERYONE is trying to do them. We were trying to do TT one more time, and ended up getting a fast pass at 9:30pm (for a 10:15pm ride). By the time we got done, FP's were out, and the line was about 35 minutes. I didn't go by Mission SPace, but I'm sure the lines would have been similar. On the bright side, places like Honey I Shrunk the Audience, and Figment were almost completely empty. Same goes for It's a Bug's Life in AK.

I hate to see what's going to happen in the summer time. I don't think it's going to be much of a "extra" benefit. Early openings are still the thing to do. Always hit MK right after a long night - we did this on Tuesday, when everyone had been at MK until 9pm (or later, due to lack of busses) on Monday night. Even though it wasn't an early opening, the crowds were much less crowded. Kids have a hard time waking up, but it's definitely worth it.

I just got back yesterday and there were very long lines everywhere at every park for the wristbands. I think since it is free to resort guests, a lot of people are getting them. Think about how many resort guests there are! Well those days are packed! I think you would have a better time avoiding those early and late days and go to another park and arrive at opening. The lines just to get in a couple hours before the normal closing time is like when the park first opens. We waited over 1/2 hour in line at the gate when we went to Epcot on a late day at 5pm! We weren't about to wait another 1/2 hour to get a wristband!

Thanks for the heads up. Our trip isn't until Sept. but the plan for now is no parks with EMH. DS 8 and I will head back to the room early, if DS 22 and friend want to hit the other parks (for EMH), fine. We plan on spliting up mid way thru day anyway. Their money, their tickets. I'll take less crowds and pool back at the room or fireworks show at "less visited park". :Pinkbounc

The lines appeared long for the wristbands, but we were able to get through them very quickly. One CM was checking resort ID and 5-6 others were attaching the wristbands.

Did find the parks to be more crowded on EMH days.

My biggest tip is if you are dining in a park on an EMH evening, get PS more than a day in advance. On the MGM EMH evening, there were no more PS available at noon that day. Luckily a CM at Guest Relations at MGM helped us and we were able to get into the Sci Fi.

I wonder if they'll figure out a better way to handle the wristbands by June. It doesn't sound so great- if you have to go wait in lines to get the wristband (even worse if you're parkhopping from another park, have to go through the entrance line for the EMH park even if it's late past the normal closing time and THEN have to go get in a line for the wristband)???

Doesn't sound great to me at all. I don't like the idea of having to take time out of our day at the park to go find a place to stand in line to get a wristband. Why can't they do it earlier in the day or when you enter the park? I guess because there is no way for them to monitor and abusers of the system could get the wristband- pass their card over to someone else and let them get a wristband even if they aren't staying onsite? But they require an ID... so that wouldn't work. So why AREN'T they just asking for ID and card and letting you get the wristband earlier in the day or when you enter the park (regardless of what time that may be- early or late)?

I was looking forward to EMH but it sounds like a pain to get the wristband. We really don't need another line to stand in. :(

I was kind of hoping they would give them to you when you get to your hotel.

::yes:: me too.....ya think that would make more sense!

I guess it keeps it more in line, and who wants to be there.

Love your sig...partied with Charley

...I myself, partied with France and Jeanne, let's hope they stay away this year, but looks like that Bermuda "High" might have other plans..... :guilty:

10 miles is STILL too close!! So glad you were safe!!! ::MickeyMo

I was closer to land fall for them...we got away great...others did not. I grew up here, so hurricanes aren't new but not common.

We are going next year, to WDW, in "fearful" Sept. We will board up the house (just in case) in Southern Florida (Palm Beach) before leaving. Gee if you guys had what we had during F and J,bless your souls. Was not easy from here, I could imagine how it must feel not being home.

Actually, it wasn't that bad where we were! I have been in worse thunder storms at home! My SIL kept saying "this ain't no hurricane" .....and sadly, I agreed. I guess we were somewhat disappointed with it. But, I realize it lost a LOT of punch by the time it got to us. Here's my trip report.....the hurricane story (and pics) are at the bottom of the report!

Thanks for giving me the trip report, new HERE and love the reads...thank you, thank you!!!

A hurricane is a hurricane no matter what end or hour you are at. Things change and happen!!

I felt very sheltered growing up, during 'Canes, weird, I had to deal with kids of my own during 2004 S Fl Cane season. No lessons learned from my parents here (David was the closest we came growing up). No blamed placed, but much we pass on, we learn a bit from Ma and PA and "talking" (no experience), .....my folks are now more north. What my parents heard over years made us better prepared??? for no electrc and some parts of the house missing.
