I notice on the hours for Feb. 26 MK is scheduled to close at 10:00.
Since it has the EMH for that night, does that mean the park will close at 1:00 am??? Or does the park close at 7:00 for offsite guests? :scratchin

We were planning to go to MK on that day b/c I thought they closed at 10:00. Now I'm worried that they'll close at 7:00. We are staying offsite, so we can't take advantage of the extra hours.

If the schedule says that the park will close at 10:00 p.m. & there are EMH that nite....then it will close at 1 a.m. for resort guests.

10:00 p.m. for offsite guests...you can actually stay & walk around & eat...but not go on any rides/attractions.

Bring a jacket...it gets cold at night. :)

are most of the eating places open during EMH?

It depends on what you mean by "most".

I think "some" is a more accurate word... or maybe "a few" says it better.

You may not be able to eat where you'd LIKE to.

So if MK closes at 12am and there is EMH that night, it will close at 3am?? That doesn't seem right? Does the park ever open up earlier than 9am?

That's right, if MK is POSTED to close at 12mid.
It will, in fact, stay open (for on-site resort guests) until 3am for EMH.

Yes, 3am,
3 o'clock in the morning,
3 hours after midnight,
yep, THREE-Oh-Oh in the wee small hours,
Un-huh, 3 AM (that late).
Indeed, that would be 3am.
:thumbsup2

And 9am is the "standard" posted open time for MK virtually every day.

That means that if MK is has MORNING EMH that day, the park will open for on-site resort guests at 8am.
(The actual time the gates open on those morning EMH days will likely be 7:50am or so, to allow guests into a small roped-off area to view the "Good Morning/Rope-Drop Ceremony).

All of the other parks also have MORNING EMH's when they open a full hour earlier than posted.

For our April vacation, the MK offical hours are 8-midnight every day. And for some of those days they also have the EMH hours in both the morning and night. So for resort guests it will be open from 7 am until 3 am. Stay till 3, go to the hotel ( contemporary, a few minutes walk ), take a shower, get a cup of coffee and go right back. Can life be any better? :cool1:

How do you know when a park has "morning EMH" hours. I am on the Disney website on the calendar section and all it states are the days that have EMH, it doesn't say anything about morning EMH.

Well, yes it does.
(That's how WE know what days are EMH and not.)

You just need go to the calendar page(s)

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/calendar/parkhours/index?id=MKCalendarParkHoursMonthlyViewPage
and on any date the has
"Extra Magic Hours" (underlined in that date) CLICK on those underlined words.

The next page will give you ALL the EMH parks and dates for that month (and many MORE) .

On the disney web site if you are looking at the monthly calendar, each day that has EMH has a link on it. The link will bring you to a page that has the parks and days each park has either morning or night time EMH. For APril, the MK has morning EMH on the 6th and 27 and every day from the 9th to 22 and evening (night ) EMH on 7 different nights.

The extra hours are free if you are staying in one of the disney resorts. In the morning you just need to show your resort id and have a ticket, to get in. At night you need to show your resort id to get a wristband. Anyone can stay in the parks, but only people wearing the wrist bands can go on the rides.

Hi bit of a disney 'virgin' only second post... do you have to pay for these extra hours? :confused3
As noted, the Extra Magic Hours are free to all Disney resort guests.
You can find a lot of info on this, and much more WDW info, on allearsnet.com.
