This was in the Mouseplanet update for WDW, Has anyone heard anything about this?

…Evening Extra Magic Hours (for 3 hours after park close) will tentatively begin on a regular basis on January 9th, with the Disney-MGM Studios having their night on Sundays. More info on this as we get it.

But it sounds like the old E ride night, I hope it is true we are going to be at WDW in January

lol - great...the day after we leave WDW! LOL

They had these as a 'test' in May. It's sort of like E-ride, but all 4 parks participated, and it was free for resort guests (like EE is now). I think the parks were open for an extra 2-3 hours at night.

I have looked at the "historical" E-Ride nights for January and there were none! We will arrive on January 12 so I am very interested to see how this develops!

That would be great!

Sounds like it's the same thing that they tested this last spring. That would be great since I'm going with my 11yo in January. With the short January hours it would be nice to have some additional evening hours.

Does anyone remember what the spring schedule for this was. Not that it will be the same, but could give a person an idea what they tried then.

This is from a spring thread discussing the morning and evening extra hours.

This was the 2 week schedule for MAY:

Sunday - Epcot (evening)
Monday - Disney's Animal Kingdom (morning)
Tuesday - Disney-MGM Studios (evening)
Wednesday - Epcot (morning); Magic Kingdom (evening)
Thursday - Disney's Animal Kingdom (evening)
Friday - Magic Kingdom (morning)
Saturday - Disney-MGM Studios (morning)

Depending on what they decide for January, this would really change my touring plan (not that I really have a plan yet, but was probably going to go to the EE park each day and then switch parks if that park got busy.

We will be there in mid Feb. I hope MK EMH (morning) stays on Thursday! It will really mess up my schedule. I am almost finished with my PS's.

I hope they clue us in soon.

When they did this test back in May, we were there. You were allowed in the park after closing time if you stayed on-site (and yes, they do check resort ID) then we were issued wristbands. If you had a wristband, you were allowed to ride the rides.

I thought it was great. The lines were short and it was wonderful getting 3 extra hours at night when the parks closed early, especially when MK closed at 6 or 7pm.

I hope, I hope, I hope!!! We'll be there Jan. 12-15 for a short trip and this would add more time to our magic!!

That's our last night there! I was thinking of cutting our vacation short by one day and leaving on Jan 9th in the early morning. I guess we'll stay that extra day, now.

When do you think it will be posted officially? Or who can I call to find out more?

Thanks Dave

We will be there in Feb and this would be GREAT. Please keep us posted and thanks for the info! You made my day!!

We were there when they did this in May and I was fairly irritated about it. My kids (DD 5, DS 4 now) are fairly early risers but not at all night owls, so not only could we not take advantage of the nights the parks stayed open later, on these days there was no EMH in the morning!!! I understand that "hours are subject to change without notice..." blah, blah blah, but I had put a lot of time into developing an itinerary that included morning EMH and then everything got changed.

For those of you who are going in January and have itineraries (along with PS reservations) planned that include morning EMH, check often to find out if this is going to be reality - as I recall, we didn't get much notice.

I think that this is great for people who can take advantage of it, I just wish that WDW would announce these things further in advance to accomodate people who like to plan ahead.

Does anyone know if Shades of Green guests will be able to participate? SOG used to be eligible for e-ride nights, but I'm not sure about extra magic hours. I'll be there that week and it would be great to have some extra time!

dcmbshafe, I agree that they should announce these things much earlier, at least before the 90 day mark. I wouldn't have been happy to have had to change around PSs.

I wish that the evening hours were in addition to EE mornings.
