Never asked for other seats but where are these on Virgin economy?

Also what is the benefit of this compared to exit seats.

When we have bought them they have been the first couple of rows behind the bulkhead or exit row seats, at first they don't look much, but you do get a bit of extra knee room, and it doesn't feel like the seat in front is sitting on your face (much)

you don't have to pay for the window seat just the two next to it. The window seat has restricted leg room in as far as you can't put your legs straight out in front of you because of the door hump thing being in the way. Be aware though that these seats are often near the galley and are quite noisey on the way back overnight! Also the seats are slightly less wide and you cannot put the arm rest up because the trays and tv are stored between them! Also this is the space that others who want to stretch their legs stand in!!! As you maybe able to tell we didn't think it was worth paying the extra money for.:) You have a less desturbed time else where and as long as you haven't got bulk head seats you can stretch you legs just as well under the seat in front, unless you are a giant of course!!:)

I can only give my opinion on the Exit row as we were upgraded to them last month, our opinion is totally opposite to queendisney, not seats we have ever considered before but would jump at them if we got them offererd again, unbelievable legroom, far better than we have had in Business class, apart from 20-30 mins after the meal & 20-30 mins after each film cycle no-one came anywhere near our little area, even at these times people respected our space and stayed at the other side away from our feet.
This outbound, came back in PE with a screaming child with toothache, I would have gladly swapped my PE seats for these.

DS's legs couldn't get anywhere near seat infront and he is 6`3"

I am a large guy, no problems with seat width or the door hump

Relatives came around for a chat, plenty of room for them to sit and talk.

We have never been eligible for exit row seats as the children are too young, but would love to be able to get them.
We have purchased extra leg room seats, which are different, and generally have been pleased with them, with one caveat.
The extra leg room seats are in different places on each type of plane, and are normally designated by the seats being a diffrent colour, or a different colour headrest cover, but there is 2-3" more legroom. It costs £30 each way I think.
The problem is that while you can pre-book these seats, you can't choose the actual seats, so you can't be sure you'll all be together. The seats only get allocated at the airport, so even if you check-in online you get the original seats you booked (don't pring the boading passes in this case).
There's info on the V-Flyer Forums as to the actual locations of the extra legroom seats on different aircraft...
Some info from Virgin HERE

mmmmmm I am liking the legroom.....but not the width!

Presume the table also in in the arm.

Think I will try for the plain extra legroom seats where the IFE is in the headrest?

I thought all the extra leg room seats were front row, so no IFE in headrests.

Its the table in the armrest, the IFE is on an arm that folds down and under the seat.

No, Virgin also have some extra legroom seats at other places in the economy cabin, available for a small extra charge.

Are they the 2's at the back we used to get at regular price? didn't think they were anything worth paying extra for.

No they are not the 2's they are a few rows scattered around the cabin. We paid for them on our last trip, as we are both really tall and have a child (so the exit row is out of bounds!) It was worth the money for us, anything for a extra few inches!
