Extra fee for free dining in a room with more than 2 adults?

We are a family of 4: 2 adults, 2 children. My mom might tag along if free dining comes out. My question is will we have to pay extra for the 3rd adult?

(I ask because I remember seeing a thread where 4 adults were staying in a Pop Century standard room during free dining and they had to pay some extra fee.)

Depends on what kind of room. The ASMu Family suites don't charge for extra adults, but other rooms do. Also, you would still have to buy her a park ticket, obviously. HTH.

You pay $10.00 per night for an extra adult in values; $15.00 in moderates; and I think $20plus in deluxes. That is whether you have free dining or not; that is extra for an adult. You can have up to four adults in most all the rooms.

However, you would have to move to a room that accepts five people depending on how old your children are aged.

For instance, if your children are aged 10 and 11, then you must stay in a room that accepts five people, i.e. POR in AB. If you are not already booked at POR with free dining, you will have to find out if POR has rooms available with free dining discounts. Often, they don't because POR is already filled usually.

For instance, I was booked at POR last year. I got the 4/3 deal last year, but had to move to another resort - we were okay with three adults. But you don't have as much flexibility with three adults and two children.

Hi
The way free dinning has been in the past is that it is tied to the room reservation, any I believe that there has always been a surcharge for a third adult in a room. Everybody on the reservation has to have the same package ie same amount of days for tickets, same kind of ticket etc. So she can't get the free dinning just for showing up she has to have the same tickets etc. She can't be added for a few of the days it is all or nothing. My duaghter and I were going to go 2 days before my wife and if free dinning is offered I need to pay for my wife to be on the whole package if we want to get the free dinning for the stay otherwise 2 seperate reservations one with free dinning one without.

hope this helps

Room occupancy at most Disney Value and Moderate resorts is 4 people, regardless of age though they don't count children 3 and under. They do charge an extra $10 per night for the 3rd and 4th person, if everyone is over 18.

ASMu has the family suites that sleep 6. POR has rooms with a trundle bed that sleep 5. Fort Wilderness cabins sleep 6. They you move up to some of the deluxes and the Villas for accomodations for more than 4 people over the age of 3.

If you have a 3 and under, your Mom can be in your room for an extra $10 per night (at the Value, I think it's more at Mods and Deluxe) but she will have to be on the package with you in order to get free dining.

HTH! :)

OP - If you are concerned on having your mom pay for the dining plan, the answer is NO. The only fee charged will be the extra adult fee charged for the room portion ($10 per night).

Dining plan and ticket options as reserved are all the same for all parties. The only thing you could change is tickets (days/hopper/water) as long as it's an upgrade type. If you plan on this (ie your mom doesn't want to hop around or go to the water parks) start with a 1day base only ticket for your reservation. When you get to the hotel, you can upgrade the tickets the way you want.

My question is could POR already be booked for the week we are going with BB before FD comes out for the rest of us?:confused3

Yes. When the 4/3 deal was extended to my week (the week after Thanksgiving), but there were no rooms available with the discount at POR. They didn't need to fill rooms, so they didn't need the discount.

SSR must have been virtually empty, because a slew of people, like myself, in both moderates and values were being offered it like crazy.

Here is what they offered me:

I could take the savings if I moved to CBR; I had stayed there once and it wasn't for me.
I could cough up another $800.00 for a Savannah room at AKL; I had already paid for most of the trip and was taking two college aged students, who didn't have the money either.
I could pay $100.00 less and go to SSR.

We went to SSR; while it was nice for a change, I missed POR so much - no deal is going to get me to change from POR this year!

aside from the suites at ASMR, SSR or OKW Don't charge the extra person for the rooms. The values are great to have the extra adults since you can pay the 10/night and get the free dining. Can't beat that. (you can pay the 82/night plus 20 for 2 adults and feed 4 adults.)
