Has any joined the extinct attractions club which features dvds of extinct disney attractions? I was wondering if they were any good?

I know of several people who got them and enjoy them, I know of several people who had a HECK of a time getting them after they paid for them.

For years I have been hearing good things about the extinct attractions programs. I too, have heard about the nightmares some people experienced getting the product. Maybe two years ago I tried to "join the club" but the web site would not work.

Last October, there was a discussion on another Disney Collectors board regarding problems with this supplier. Eventually, the guy who runs the business got into the discussion. and admitted to past problems, but said was making an effort to get things going smoothly.

Very recently, he has begun selling the dvd's direct on eBay. His feedback rating so far is perfect, although brief. So tonite I took the plunge, used "Buy It Now" to purchase Disneyland Home Movies, Vol 1 DVD. The seller required immediate payment through PayPal, so I feel like I am totally protected. Also, I really do think this guy (D.O.) is sincere when he says he is trying to get everything running smoothly, and that he is just one of those people who loves the old theme parks. Like me...

If these DVD's are as good as I have heard, and the seller has in fact gotten everything running smoothly, he'll get a lot more of my money!

I will keep everyone posted on the results of my purchase and hopefully post a full review of this new DVD in about a week.

Today I received the DVD I purchased on eBay last Friday, 1/15.

The package was sent the next day, and the seller emailed me with that information. I sent the seller a question and I got my reply within a few hours.

I will have no reservations about purchasing more of the programs from this seller. The service and communication were excellent.

Disneyland Home Movies, Volume 1, is just what it says: a collection of home movies supplied by people who want to share their magical memories of the park. Film quality varies, but overall, an entertaining 40 minutes. Since the films are all from the fifties and sixties, they are silent, but a very interesting sound track has been added that I enjoyed very much.

If you are under 25, and have never grown up watching home movies, you may be disappointed in the quality in a few parts of these amateur 8mm films. But for me, this glimpse of the Disneyland I never got to see, was a wonderful journey back to the time when the park was NEW!

Last week ( January 22), I "joined the club" via the website, very late at night. I selected 3 titles and paid by PayPal. This time there was no reply or communication. My three programs arrived on Friday, January 30.

I'll review them at a later date if anyone is interested.

I have only watched two of the discs so far. The program content was good, but I experienced some tech problems with playback. I will be testing them this week to try to isolate the glitches.

From my recent experience, this seller has no problems processing and shipping orders on a very timely basis, either via eBay or their website.

One thing I do want to mention: These discs are recordable DVD's (DVD-R), and will not play on some older machines. Make sure your machine will play these discs.
