External battery pack needed in the park?

seems we use our phones for everything now. And the more we use them the quicker the battery gets drained. I have the iPhone 6+ and although it has a much better battery life than my 5s did, I still need to charge it once during the day, usually in the car on the go somewhere.
Now that our phones will be used so much more in the parks (mde app, fp+) will it be drained even faster of battery life?
Do most people bring an external battery charger pack into the parks? I'm contemplating buying one, saw a highly rated one on Amazon, but don't want to spend the money if it's not necessary. This would probably be the only place I'd use it.
Love to hear everyone's input on battery drainage in the parks and if a lot of people bring their own external chargers?? Thanks!

Many guests have begun to carry them.

It's a frequent topic on these boards.

Wow, I can't imagine using my phone enough to drain the battery at WDW. I use my phone for MDE and taking pictures. Maybe sending a text or two it the group splits up. I have an iPhone 6.

if you buy one of the cheaper ones.. don't use it until your trip because they lose their power pretty quick one that was able to charge my phone twice in less than a months use now gets me charged about 1 time

I have a cheap one - I think you should look for the lightest weight.

I definitely bring one but don't always have to use it. If you go to monoprice.com they have some really good ones at low prices. A 5000-6000Mah pack should charge your phone twice. No need to get one bigger unless your charging a tablet.

I also have the Anker one. I only use it for MDE and pictures/videos in the parks and my battery won't last the day (iPhone 6)

I bought one for last year's trip and it was great! Now it stays in my car for times when I'm running around and battery is low. Picking up a second one for this year's trip!

Thanks for all of the responses! I will get one for sure now. Its been two years since we were in WDW and I used a camera then, I don't plan on using it this time, just using my phone--so yes, I don't want to run the risk of battery death mid day.
Thanks!!

I have inexpensive ones. One type charges off the usb cable the phone uses. The other uses AA batteries. The AA batteries is nice in the case where you can't recharge but can by AA batteries.

Well yes, if you use your phone more the battery will be drained sooner. :teacher:

There are lots of battery packs available now and they are very handy to have when touring the parks all day. I've used a Mofie backup battery in the parks and it works well for keeping the battery level up. You can find them lots of places including Amazon.

If we go at rope drop, sometimes my battery doesn't make it to lunch. (But, then again, I still have a 4. Yes, a 4, not a 4s.) With MDE I use my phone way more at the parks than I ever did before for checking ride wait times and swapping fastpasses and dining reservations. It is also my primary camera. I'm going by buy one of those good quality battery cases for my October trip. That brings me to a side note for all Apple people............

:offtopic:I was eligible for an upgrade in April, I think. I have been him-hawing around about it because I just had a feeling that if I upgraded to the 6 that Apple was going to "shock the world" and go ahead and announce a 7 this fall. Saturday I got so tired of my 4 I went to upgrade. Sure enough, the nice lady at the AT&T store stopped me and told me to wait 4 weeks because at the Apple shareholders meeting next month they are, indeed, going to announce a 7 for pre-order with delivery at the end of Sept.

Well, it's probably going to be a 6S, not a 7... but close enough. :)

Whatever it's called, preorders start 9/18 for a sale date of 9/25. Almost there!
