Hi :)
I was just curious...are the deluxe resorts the only ones with interior doors from your room? We have booked at ASMu for our 1st 3 nights..then decided to 'move up' our last 2 nights to a moderate.....can't really afford a deluxe.. but we were 'expecting' interior rooms there...and I hear they are exterior as well.
Just curious which resorts offer the interior doors...

The All Stars and Moderates all have exterior entrances. If you want interior hallways then you may want to switch to a deluxe.

Personally I like the exterior doors of the moderates. I don't have to walk down long closed hallways. But yes you would have to upgrade to a deluxe to get interior hallways.

Depending on discounts Swan/Dolphin, AKL and WL may not be that much more expensive than a moderate.

Interior corridors allows the rooms to have balconies and patios.

Not all deluxe resorts have interior hallways, OKW has outdoor hallways and no elevators except in a very few buildings.

OKW is not billed as a Deluxe...it's a Home away from Home property like Fort Wilderness homes and the other DVC villas.

I like interior doors and the fact that the buildings are locked after 11:00 at the Polynesian and GF. Makes it feel safer to me.

Yes, there are only exterior doors at the moderates. The rooms are basically the same as the All-Stars, with the room being just slightly larger. The grounds are MUCH nicer at the moderates than at the values, which is where the increased value is. You still get that motel feel at the moderates, just like at the values.

Other than the fact that it has 2 beds in one room and someone comes in and cleans CBR does not feel like a motel.

For the money I think Disney does a very good job of making you feel like you have escaped to another land or place. If that is a motel feel at the moderates I haven't stayed at any other motels with that feeling.

I prefer exterior doorways. IN MY EXPERIENCE, you hear much more noise early in the mornings and late at night, (sometimes all night), when you stay at a resort with interior corridors. Kids and adults, yell, scream and bounce off the walls in interior corridors without an ounce of consideration for other guests.

I agree with Bob NC about the noise. We stayed at AS Mu and PO Riverside when all the cheerleaders were there last year, and there was very little noise. We stayed at a deluxe with its interior hallways and the sound echoed through the halls whenever someone opened or closed a door, or when kids were being kids.

I'll save the money and stay at a moderate or value! Both are great, and certainly don't feel much like any other motel I've ever stayed at!

gosh! i've never felt like i was at a motel at the moderates!

i also agree about sound being an issue with interior corridors. when we stayed at the beach club we could hear a lot more noise in the hallways than we ever have at the all stars or moderates.

i actually sort of like the exterior hallways. while walking to my room i like to be able to take in the scenery at the moderates, as opposed to the deluxes where you just look at wallpaper and carpet most of the way. :)

Thanks..ya'll have made me much happier about having exterior doors..., particularly being able to absorb the Disney Air as I walk to my room to end my day :)
Who knows..maybe next time I'll be able to try the deluxe and see for myself ;)

Lots of buildings in Fl have exterior corridors. Any "luxury" apartment complex in Orlando will have them. I LIVE in a building (condo) that has exterior corridors. We also have a large balcony so I don't think that it has anything to do with not having a balcony at the mods. I fell really safe at WDW, but I do always lock my door and am aware of anyone following me. Just like at home. My dad lives in a building that has interior corridors, a phone that you have to call up to get into the building with a guard at the front desk AND before you can drive into the parking area there is a guard gate where you must stop and have the guard call up. For all this securiy my dad was held up at gun point INSIDE the parking lot. He was made to lay face down on the ground with a gun to the back of his head. They took his Rolex and other jewelry. There is a lot of crime in FL and you have to be careful all of the time. There is always some serial rapist running around. The Target by my house used to be the Sears that Adam Walsh was taken from. At Disney I am more concerned about all of the water around (quiet pools, lakes, etc) with so many kids running loose.
As far as noise, I've had quiet and noisy with both kinds of corridors.
