Extending Vacation for MNSSHP

My wife and I will be at WDW Sept 11-14, and we are considering adding an extra day so we can experience MNSSHP. We won't be dressing up, but we'd like to see the parade, fireworks (and the Haunted Mansion in all it's splendor). My question is, would it actually be worth extending? We'd be buying party tickets only that day, and going into the park at 4:00PM. Part of me says yes, because we'll have two nights where we can't go to MK due to NoJ taking place the 11th and 12th. I just wanted to make sure that before we commit, that the party was actually worth going to even if you don't dress up. Are there any disadvantages to going to the very first party (will it be crowded even though it's on a Tuesday)?

On the other hand, I've heard rumors they may extend the party dates and offer it earlier, but I doubt they'll do that on the 13th or 14th of September since the MK will close early the 11th and 12th for NoJ.

Thanks for any and all advice!

MNSSHP is my favorite party. We have never dressed up and have always had a blast. IMO, the parade and Hallowishes are the best Disney offers. If it is in your budget and you have the time, I would add a day or two so you can enjoy the party. WE always either schedule an early dinner in the park so we don't miss any party details, or we have an early CS meal.

I would not hesitate to add an extra day for MNSSHP. We found lines short, we figured trick-or-treating kept the lines down. Using party ticket only that day and getting there at 4pm is what we would do. The one problem we ran into was dinner: our brilliant plan was to grab late lunch/early dinner at a monorail resort before going to MK at 4pm. But we discovered that most resort sit-down restaurants close after lunch ends around 2:30pm and don't re-open until 5pm.

We LOVED the party and found it worth every penny!! We got to meet rare characters, the parade and wishes are phenomenal, walking on to headliners was a major draw and trick or treating was lots of fun!! Oh, we also had fun at the monster dance party. I wouldn't hesitate to extend for a day at the party!!

Oh! And we never dressed up. I just wore a malificent tee I owned (not halloween themed at all) and DD wore a monsters inc tee with skirt. We had a blast!

Best money I ever spent! And sometimes I can be a tightwad when it comes to money :rotfl2:We love Halloween and just found MNSSHP to be an absolute blast. The parade and show was fantastic. We are actually going again on our upcoming trip and I can not wait.:hyper:

Thanks for all the responses! I was a little nervous since it was the first one. As long as my wife can get the extra day off I think we are going to go for it! Probably just spend the day in Downtown Disney and then go to the park.

I'm extending my vacation to go to the first party. I've never been to one before and I can't wait! We were also going to leave on the 14th, but now will leave on the 16th.

Thanks everyone! We're confirmed for the party and have extended our vacation. We are super excited!!! pixiedust:

We went last year around that time and it was awesome as there was almost zero lines for all the rides and the weather was nice.

In fact, it was one of our favorite times to visit to avoid the crowd and heat.
