Extending DVC Point Rental

Hi all
I rented DVC points through one of the online DVC rental companies for Polynesian. I am now interested in extending my trip, but there are no more points available to do so.
Would I be able to rent the same studio from Disney (I know higher cost?) If so, would Disney allow me to stay in the room if the same name is on both reservations - or would I have to move rooms?
(I'm not sure if they have specific studio rooms that are slated for DVC, or just a specific proportion of rooms)

This has happened to us twice in the past. We made sure our request to stay in the same room was noted in both of the reservations--- the one through DVC and the one through Disney travel company. Though they could not guarantee it ahead of time, in both instances we were able to stay in the same room.

First issue could be is there a cash room available when you want it
the resorts are limited in the amount of cash rooms they have in the dvc side of things
