Extending 4/3 Again!

I would LOVE this, unless a better AP or FL resident rate comes out. I'm going solo, so I could care less about free dining. But I think Disney should offer people going during September a choice -free dining OR 4/3.

I would go for free dining at a value resort since we are 4 adults. It would be a much better deal for us. We usually stay in a place with a kitchen to save on meals, so the only way I would even consider the DDP is if it was free and we stayd in a value resort. Keeping my fingers crossed! ;)

Gee, maybe Disney should just lower their rack rates by 40% and see how much THAT helps their hotel bookings.

I mean, honestly...

I bet you if they started a new ad campaign "Disney Resorts, now 40% off EVERY NIGHT, No PIN Code Required!"...they'd be booked solid every night of the year.

agreed! but i think they are trying to lure folks into staying longer...

Just what I need, another offer to entice me to come back. I just came back a few weeks ago on the 4/3 offer and just received the free dining bounceback. I'm addicted, I'm trying to convince myself not to book a trip in June with the 4/3 again, then a bounceback in August, and then once again in December which is already booked.

If the economy don't kill my wallet Disney will. :lmao:

I can't get away for 7 nights so the 4/3 is pretty worthless for me. The Free Dining was much better for us. I had a bounceback for 30% off a Mod, but that's only about $50 a night. We also had the kids Stay and Play Free PIN, but with one child that's not a huge savings either. I'd need a gift card to make those deals worth it.

I am with some PPs, I would much rather have free dining HANDS DOWN! Hopefully, one can get the option of either one.

For my May trip I booked POFQ with the buy 4, get 3 night free deal and found that it is a better deal than the Annual Pass discount they are offering. It's a few dollars cheaper, plus you'd have the one day ticket to use next year to apply toward your next AP. I also have a trip booked for Sept 26th-Oct 4th, with the Free Dining Bounce Back offer I received when I was there last Sept. If they do extend the 4/3 offer I'm not sure which I'd choose. They'd probably also be offering another AP discount, so I'd have three choices to run the numbers on. I don't believe an AP discount would beat the 4/3 deal, but I also like the idea of using all those snack credits at the Food & Wine Festival, so I sortof like the free dining offer I already have. Then again I could get the 4/3 deal and then add the quick service plan, so I'd get two snacks to use during the Food & Wine Festival. Oh, decisions, decisions.

edited: it seems like the value of the 4/3 deal vs free dining depends on which level of resort you are staying at and also how many people are in your room. As a solo in a Moderate resort the 4/3 deal looks better, but if my family decides to join me, then free dining would be a better deal in a Value resort.

If they extend the 4/3, would free dining definitely not be offered?? I did notice that the old spring offer - free upgrade to park hopper/water parks - was not offered this year.

I like free dining better because we can go for less time - we can do 5 nights and still get 6 full days in the parks, instead of 7 nights/7 days - that's only one more park day, so even though the 2 extra nights are free, we don't really need them (does that make sense?)

So, another vote for free dining!!:worship:

This is making me crazy!!! I just booked the value for the first of Sept. in hopes of Free Dining at that time. It would work out better for the family with the Free Dining. Got to hope for the Free Dining.:surfweb:

I can't see them offering free dining at the same time as the 4/3 deal is happening (although that was only for about 100 rooms per resort when we stayed). But they did have the 40 % off at the same time as 4/3, and there is also the bounce back

Have they ever done free dining at the same time as a room or package deal?

I would assume if they offer more than one deal, it will be 4/3, free dining OR any other code that's out there. It will be up to the traveler to determine what suits them best. :)

I wouldn't go on what they've done in the past - this isn't a normal year. And next year probably won't be, either. I don't think anyone can predict what they'll do to fill rooms this year. Just keep watching and be ready for, well, just about anything.

DisFlan

They definitely offer more than one deal at a time if the rooms are empty enough. They are currently offering a room only discount of about 27% on "select rooms" for March - which is peak season. So I wouldn't be surprised if they continue offer a different discount at the same time as 4/3 but probably a room only discount again.

yes i agree, although they may offer both as well but not combined (FD w/ 4/7) Maybe we may be able to choose.

After the last extension of the 4/3 deal, I predicted that this deal would go to the end of the year, so anymore extensions would not surprise me one bit.

The deal is getting the people in the resorts etc, but it's not generating anymore revenue for WDW hence the cuts, changes etc. When the next quarter report comes out, we will see what the 4/3 deal has been doing for WDW.

If it wasn't for the 4/3 deal, I think that WDW would be hurting a lot more and folks would not be booking too many trips.

I also wouldn't rule out free dining either as if WDW gave out free $200 gift cards to those booking Jan - Mar, why not some sort of free dining in Sept?

If they extend it that will mean no GP free dining though....

I think you are right.. it will an either or to the general public. You might get gift cards or something but probably not both Free dining and 4/3.

IMHO neither of them are a deal that's making me book a Disney resort. Values still avg almost $80 a night. I just booked the Comfort Inn LBV for $32! And Deluxes can still avg outrageous amounts. Plus I have only stayed for 7 nights once in the past few years. I am not changing my visiting habits for "deal" I don't need. So for short stays I guess I am offsite!

I hope they extend it and I will cross my fingers and toes for them to extend it to the 31st of October. Because if i regard correctly, as long as your first night is on the last day, you still get the deal? I sure hope so, that would be amazing. Come on Disney, come on!! :goodvibes
