With all the electronic stuff is it worth getting

Looking at buying Canon 430EX II flash and Sigma 30mm 1.4 lense.

Probably not. Most things electronic, if they are going to go bad, will go bad in the first 90 days. And what can go wrong with a lens unless you drop it con something hard, and that is probably considered abusing it and not covered by the warranty anyway.

Girlfriend had a Cannon that was 2 days away from 1 year manufactor warrenty and it broke completely. They gave her a new camera but it still happens every once in awhile. Electronics are either crap the first day you get it or a couple years down the road when the wiring gets lose and things start to wear out.
The lens also has electronics in it so it could wear out also.
