I'm heading to Charlotte in 2 weeks to start my new job. DW and the kids are staying in our current house until it sells (or at least for a month or two).
If it looks like our house will take awhile to sell, I'll be looking for an apartment, but either way, I'll need a place to stay for the first week or two.
I was looking at Extended Stay America or Microtel, but I read some bad things about ESA in this thread:
