Extended queue for people mover!

I really enjoyed it. The shadows are a lot of fun and there's some simple "pixie dust" lighting that's really cute. I wouldn't wait a long time for it, but it was definitely worth strolling to at RD since we didn't need to run to A&E or Mine Train...

We're planning to see it during the late EMH in June. Figures that we typically go to DL where they don't have FP on this ride, and now we're heading to WDW and I'm skipping the FP. Of course, it's not like I don't have other things I prefer to use my FPs for though.

Huh... All this Disneyland love. When I visit my family in cali we go to DL, and it's fun. But I've never found it omg amazing. Wdw is so much like DL now. And I really don't like CA. The roller coaster there is meh and often breaks down. It feels incomplete like DHS. I'd go just to ride the new cars stuff. But I wouldn't need to go again for a decade hah. It's cheaper as a new yorker to fly and vacation at wdw where there's plenty more to do (subjective opinion alert).

I'd rather go to universal Studios orlando than DL.
I would agree that dca was an.incomplete park before its revitalization. But with how they have redone it now..not just carsland, but Buena vista street, carthay circle, grizzly peak (instead of condor flats), etc...I just don't aee that anymore. TDA took 1 billion and made essentially a whole new park there.

I had 6 WDW trips before I discovered the Dis Boards. What a great help they have been. Also, they keep the Magic alive when we are not there.

I wonder if the PP queue is typically open at RD or if they opened it for the crowds this week?

Shhh! There's no point in trying to convince anyone that DLR is better than WDW. Frankly, I'd rather have people continue thinking that it's an adorable little park that's not worth their time or trouble. They don't need the business.

It is adorable though. It's worth my time just not as much as other places. Like, 2.5 hr trip to Florida vs 6+ to get to cali. However if I lived in Tustin, yea I'd be there all the time! :D

I'm curious when you were last there.

Different strokes for different folks :). I've always preferred DLR over WDW. It probably has a lot to do with spending more time there as a child.

Ya know... That's probably my reason too now that you mention it. I basically went to wdw every year since I was born for a while there haha.

The People Mover queue phenomenon still takes some getting used to for me. I was always conditioned to think that it was one attraction that would never have a wait of any sort. Well, that was back when it called TTA and I liked it a lot more too. Anyhow...

To weigh in on the DLR sidebar discussion: Having been on many WDW vacations over the years we decided to go to DLR a few years ago. It was during the month of June, the year that Carsland opened. I recall seeing all the construction for it. I am so glad we went to DLR. It was a thrill and a treat, and a different sort of vacation than our WDW vacations. My family all loved doing so many wonderful things in SoCal. I still prefer WDW just for the nostalgia, variety, and familiarity of it, but I can hardly say I dislike DLR or regret having gone there. It was a more expensive vacation, but one I would like to repeat someday. DW says she has seen about enough of the state of California, so i may have to go solo.

Hmm... 2008? Or 2009... I think. It was a graduation.

You really should try to get back one day. The park you are commenting on is not the same as the one we've all been commenting on. That overhaul of DCA was pretty substantial.

Yep! DCA makes DHS look like Six Flags at this point. :scratchin

That's the next plan I think. After booking this latest wdw trip I realized we hadn't seen the cali family in quite a while so it's a good excuse to go back to CA and be wowed. Plus... The one awesome thing I remember from CA was the quick service food. Waaaay better than wdw. They probably have new stuff now though haha.

Truly! It's quite adorable! :)

I love that t's the original and has a older, quaint feel to it, but it's a trip that once every 5 years or so does it for me. We went for the 50th, then once since then. The 50th was amazing, doubt we'll see them do it up like they did again ..well until the 100th! Doubt I'll be around to see that one so I'll settle for the 50th at WDW!

The biggest drawback for us is the horrible drive- about the same distance as WDW but a terrible drive.

I think you'd be surprised. They're putting an awful lot of effort into the 60th this year. And that new night parade looks outstanding.
