i am sure i misunderstood but i heard that if you have a two park ticket you can only take the express once.

also i heard that the express has better effects in one direction.

i am probably just getting old and not hearing correctly

You can take the Hogwarts Express as often as you like. The effects are different in both directions. I like the trip from Diagon to Hogsmeade best.

As Damo said, you can ride as many times as you want if you have a park-to-park ticket! The effects are different each way.

Yep ride as much as you like.

There is 2 different ride experiences. One to hogsmede and one back to kings cross.

There were rumors at one point that at peak times, they would limit the ridership of the Hogwarts Express to only one direction. However, because of the high capacity of the attraction, the nightmarish waits have not materialized and there are no limits on the amount of rides you can take on the train.

Agreed, we did take the train both directions on Saturday 12/7, but I will say that while the crowds are generally light for this, they were uncannily high around 1-4pm on Saturday, with waits at Hogsmeade of 34-40 minutes (posted 35) and 45-50 wait time from Kings Cross station. (we went from Kings Cross @ 10am and it was walk on, but coming back was WAY busy).
