Explain the DDP

I'm looking at taking advantage of the free dining this summer but am curious how the meals work. What is an example of a snack? If I use quick service, what is included in one credit and can I use it at my resorts food court or pool side dining? What is included and not included in the table service credit? I'm trying to determine if we will save money with the DDP, and hoping I can as with recent economic struggles this will be a tough trip to pull off, financially!! Any info would help!!! Thanks guy!
