Explain magic bands to me

How do we get one? We are DVC members and planning to head to Saratoga Springs resort over Christmas. Do we purchase them? I cannot find information on this. Are Canadians able to get one?

Go on the My Disney Experience website and click on Customize Magic Bands. I think they will be sent to your resort after your customization has happened.

Thanks but I don't see customization anywhere. I wonder if it is different for Canadians.

No it's no different. I am a Canadian travelling to SSR AND BLT in early December. I was able to customize our bands last month.

For the longest time in MDE the magic bands link just talked about them- but did t allow us to customize. Then at approximately 60 days out, after doing online check in- I was able to customize both sets (split stay) and select my FP+.

The only difference for Canadians is that they won't ship ahead but will be available for pick up at time of check in.

you have a MDE account and have linked your DVC reservation correct? And you have linked your tickets?

Then you should see the info on the bands on the right side of your home screen in MDE.

There is a thread all things MB on the "theme park strategies" forum.

Then you should have no problem. Don't use the app- log into the main site- go to the far right vertical list of links and look for the one about magic bands and you will find all the info there. You may be cutting it close to customize, but the deadline is a bit longer for us Canadians who aren't getting them shipped... But if your deadline is past, you will get grey ones that work exactly like everyone else's aside from the color and no name on the band. You will get them at check in.

I did this and I see where it says "manage magic bands." It does not say anything about how to get one. It says to enter a MB ID. I give up. Sorry Disney but this makes little sense.

Did you read the dedicated thread on the theme park strategies forum? These are free- in fact they are going to be the way you access everything in the near future... It's your room key, your charge account, your fast pass plus pass... You name it- it does it. Some reported not being able to customize until doing online check in so you may want to try that... But even if you are at the "manage your magic bands" link... It tells you all about them there. If you still can't access- call DVC ms in the am and they can make sure your park tickets are linked correctly etc... Not sure but this may be part of the problem.

Whether you presign up or not is irrelevant, you will be using one when you arrive.,, only disadvantage is the customized look and of course your FP+ selections

Thank you. There was a technical issue with my account which is why I had difficulty. Everything fixed now & magic bands will arrive in 10 days! ThAnks for your help!

Just so you arent disappointed, even though the system shows that the bands will ship- for us Canadians they will simply be ready for us at check in.
