Explain DVC Mousekeeping Service to a Newbie

How does it work? Do you mind not having regular maid service when staying in a studio?

If you are staying up to a week, on Day 4 (count arrival as Day 1) you will get a Trash/Tidy where they will remove your trash, trade out towels and replace soaps. They will not make the bed or change the sheets.

For stays of 8 days or more, on Day 4 you will get a full cleaning - they will vacuum, change the bed linens, trade out towels, replace soaps and do the dishes. On day 8, you will also get the Trash/Tidy described above. For longer stays, the same routine is repeated every 4 days.

We don't mind not getting the daily service at all, but we still do the dishes, make the bed and even vacuum if we feel the need.

Do you mind not having regular maid service when staying in a studio?

The only thing we don't like is not getting fresh towels. But we always get a 2BR so we don't mind the towel issue because we can wash/dry our towels as necessary. Making the bed, doing dishes and generally cleaning up, we do anyway so it's no big deal at all.

We actually like not having someone knocking on the door in the A.M. or coming back to the room at 4:00 P.M. and wondering why it wasn't cleaned yet. Not having housekeeping really makes things simpler.

DVC goes by the number of nights you stay. So it is actually 8 nights or more and you get a full cleaning on day 4 and trash and towels on day 8. If you only stay 4-7 nights, you get trash and towels on day 4. If you stay 3 nights or less, no cleaning at all.

If you count by days, you need to count both the day you arrive and the day you leave for 9 days or more to get a full cleaning. If you don't count the day you leave, you need 8 days to include a full cleaning.

We do studios and and really enjoy no one being in the room.

We add 1 set of extra towles and 2 extra T&T day on our stay . They we move the other one around so we get fresh towles each day and don't mind paying that little bit for them
