We are in the process of buying a resale and the contract has 195 points that must be used by 3/1/15. Our trip is in June so we cannot use them. If all goes well we should have access to the points by mid to late October.. Would we be able to rent these ? I am worried because it would only be 5 months out. Any advice would be great.
Thanks

If you do not want to rent them, look into depositing them within the RCI system. That way you will have upto two years to use them.

If those points are 2014 points, your best alternative would be to bank them into your 2015 Use Year. Then you could use them for your June trip and get full use of the points.

However...with a March UY, your banking deadline is the end of October. Anticipating a mid-October transfer is cutting it closer than I'd like. Once you reach an agreement with the seller, ask them to bank the points for you.

The other two options are renting a reservation (either by yourself or through a broker) or depositing to RCI.

I probably didn't explain this correctly but after looking at the contract there are 150 banked points from 2013 and 45 borrowed points from 2015. Thanks

Ah, OK. Then your options are to rent or deposit into RCI.

Since these are essentially "found" points, I'd be tempted to rent them through David's --- take the money and run.

I actually like RCI as an option, but that is another whole system to learn.

I'd do baby steps and rent through David's.
