Expired rider switch

We have a few rider switch passes from our trip in the beginning of December that i found in our park bag. We are going back in January and were wondering if we might be able to use the passes?
So, go ahead and try to use them even if they have dates on them--they were originally issued to you for a "ride that you never went on"--the worst that could happen (if they have expired) is that they will issue you new ones--Enjoy your trip :)

When we went last February they expired at the end of the month and it was written on the pass. We had a few Splash Mountain passes we did not use (it was cold!) and we gave them to the concierge before we left hoping they could pass on some magic. The CM seemed happy to pass them along.

The title of the thread is EXPIRED rider switch pass. What is there in the word EXPIRED that makes you or the OP think she can use it on her next visit? It's no different than anything else with an expiry date. Would you give the same advice if it was an expired park ticket?

Do you still have the same situation where you have a little one who cannot ride and would need to use rider swap?

And who will need diaper changes, naps, bottles, etc. that require the presence and participation of both adults?

I don't really get long expiration times. I get a little bit, but I'm saying an hour tops. Why would they expire in a month (or longer)? That's just people taking advantage (which if they will let you, why not?). To me, the point is to allow people to ride while others in their group can't be left alone. If that's the case, the other person should have to ride right after. If you have an ADR/FP close then you shouldn't get in line for that ride.

Once again, if they allow it I don't blame people taking advantage. However, they shouldn't be so stupid about it.

The expiration times use to be day of because the CMs would put the rider swap paper in the FP machine and print a hand full. When they ran out they could take 1 paper fastpass machine down and print more pretty quickly. For awhile there were still a fee machines sleinkled about so it was a one week period. Now there aren't that many machines left and much harder to reprint if they run out so they print a massive batch and let it expire at the end of the month.

I thought they had an expiration date on them. If they don't, how would anyone know they're expired?

They do. So the OP cannot use them. But she can get new ones.

From what we have noticed with ours, the date has been consistently the end of the month. So all from our Thanksgiving trip expired Nov 30.

I think it is a combo of: so that the attraction doesn't have to constantly print new ones. They just print a batch once a month and they are done.

And sometimes doing the attraction even the same day is not feasible. We have been caught off guard with how long it takes to cycle through some rides (such as TT and Soarin) that doing the switch immediately is not possible. Thorough one could argue an end of day expiration would be adequate here (kind of like DAS).
