EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

Hands down at all my trips I see the worst people at club level.:sad2:

I find they are usually unprepared and take it out on the cm's. They don't like the room, want special food brought in from elsewhere, want fp's and dining res to be available etc.

I try to check on the cm later and tell them they did a good job with the situation. You can see they appreciate it and smile/relax a bit.

Oh on a different note. I was having so much fun at Cr atrium club in August! I was waiting in the lounge for dd at 5pm and had a glass of wine. I noticed a woman in her 30's with maybe her dad chatting and drinking wine as well. When dd still didn't show up I decided glass 2? why not! I noticed the woman's glass was empty and offered to refill for her while I was up. She looked a little confused but said ok. When I gave it to her I said " I am traveling alone with my teenage daughter and having a relaxing time without my son and husband. You looked comfy there I didn't mind getting it for you! Hope you and your family have a great night".

3 days later on check out day dd and I get on the elevator to leave. A woman and her kids got on as well. The woman says " kids, that's the nice lady that got me my wine the other night I told you about!"

Ya, I do stuff like that all the time. I love being at Disney and thankful I get to go as often as I can. Still, it was nice knowing it was appreciated.

Most people don't realize how much a simple act of kindness can mean to someone else. Years ago, I was about to exit my car (door open) and I got into one of those coughing fits (when you get a tickle in your throat). I had just recovered from a sinus infection or something. Anyway, a complete stranger quickly brought over a bottle of water she had just purchased and gave it to me. It totally caught me off guard, and I will never forget it! I probably would have been too scared of catching something to do that for someone-lol! That was so nice for you to do that. It obviously made an impact on that lady since she told her kids about it. More people should be like that at Disney.... They are at Disney for goodness sake! I have never experienced any bad CL behaviors, but this may be because I pretty much have my head in the clouds when I'm at Disney. I'm glad you had such a good time at CR CL. I wish I could have talked my husband into a split stay there for our upcoming trip, but it was hard enough to get him to stray from GF when we stayed at BC last year. If he hadn't had a good time there last year, he never would have stayed anywhere else again!

We've been pretty fortunate during most of our CL stays, but we do find some interesting guests in the CL lounges sometimes. GF RPC was the most interesting, as many guests seemed confused by the ADR situation. On more than one occasion, I overheard irritation that the CL CMs could not book next-day character meals.

Interesting that someone complained about the food running out at BC. We've stayed CL at BC a few times and our experience there last weekend was better than ever before. The variety and quality of the food was much higher and the CMs replenished the food frequently. As I mentioned earlier, that's not an easy task at BC because they have to keep bringing items in and out through the closed door. I wonder if we encountered the same CM bartender as TJA one night, but our second night everything went smoothly. In fact, I commented to that CM how much we enjoyed the quality and variety of breakfast and appetizer offerings. He said they are working to make more items available and not rotate the same things in as frequently.

Another thing - we actually love magic bands. We have many, use them interchangeably, and have never (knock on wood) had a problem. I always try to remember to tell CMs how much we love the bands, so they know they work well for someone!

I thought the BC food was outstanding at breakfast -- I was so surprised to see the meats! They were very popular and the CM's did a great job constantly bringing out new plates. The only thing I consistently noticed a lack of was the plain bagels, but that issue seemed to be fixed after a few days. I only knew this because we peeled the seeds off a bagel for my DD for a few days in a row :) (no big deal, really).

It very well could've been the same CM.... It only happened with one CM -- the rest were fabulous.

This was our first trip that our Magic Bands didn't work upon check-in. The poor CM's worked so hard to fix the issue, but it was taking such a long time that they gave us some gray ones so we could make it to our first FP on time. The CM thought we had problems because we have too many Magic Bands. He said it takes the system a long time to recognize the Bands if there are too many associated with an account. In any event, after the fix, they worked great all trip!

We were there in early January:

Each night in kids' area they had uncrustables, mini turkey corn dogs, and red pepper hummus

I asked for menus, but they told me that they were 'changing things up' and trying out new recipes. They seemed to be looking for feedback and asked guests how they liked items.

We saw for nighttime offerings:

Sunday- Spring rolls, conch fritters

Monday- Mushroom risotto balls, 5 spice chicken wings

Tuesday- Sushi (California rolls and veg rolls)

Wednesday- Bacon wrapped beef with blue cheese aioli, Pierogies with Korean bbq sauce

Thursday- Chicken quesadillas with mango salsa, spring rolls

Friday- Crab rangoon, 5 spice chicken wings

Saturday- we left :sad1:

This is great to know, thanks! I love when the lounges change things up and try new recipes. We will be there from a Sunday to a Sunday -- I'll try to take note of the offerings each night.

We saw a few situations too -- one was at check in. I felt sorry for CM Cameron who was being so polite while the guests were so upset....I'm not even sure why - something to do with their room. They weren't shouting but we could feel the vibes. I sent my kids and DH in the lounge so they didn't witness it.

I think we were there at the same time, right? We were there March 28-April 4. So far I have done a survey and did make sure to mention how wonderful the CM's were, as always at BC. :).
We were there 3/28-3/30 and Then we're on the Dream for the rest of the week. I just got off the phone with Guest Services to give them my feedback. I wanted them to know how impressed I was in the face of such incredible dissatisfaction. I did talk about the chair issue at SAB too. My daughter asked if we could stay at BWI CL next time. She thinks the guests there are calmer! We had a lovely trip and am glad we stayed at BC this trip

I keep expecting a magic band glitch, because now we have 12 each. Still OK (but again, knock on wood!)

BC CL breakfast definitely gets the #1 CL breakfast award in my opinion. And I don't usually eat breakfast, so that's high praise! Our youngest loved the ham - I had to monitor very closely to make sure he didn't take too much. They did an excellent job of replenishing that particular item during our stay, too.

Oh ok -- without going back in this thread I think I recall we were checking in on the same day and both requested a daybed I think? We went to the pool 4x during our week and each time we were able to secure one chair to split among the 4 of us. It worked ok for us because I sit in the chair while DH and the kids are in the pool most of the time. But still....there were indeed lots of chairs that I knew were unoccupied that had towels sitting on them. Whether they were saved or people just left towels there, I don't know, but it does always seem to be a problem.

Yes - knock on wood! We have 9 bands each, mainly because of split stays, and have never had a problem until this trip. Still...it was resolved without us losing any time over it.

I agree BC breakfast is the best for us. We will be at Poly soon and I know the breakfast isn't like the BC breakfast, but I will exchange that for the great view at Poly!

I got a knowledgeable cl cm at gf that explained that since we had so many mbs to go into our DME and make "inactive" what we were not currently using that only 8 per person will work. I have more than double that :rainbow:so I just keep current my blues and pinks since I wear those anyways. Since then we haven't had any problems at checkins either.:thumbsup2

Does sound like a nice breakfast, too!

We were at BC CL a week and a half ago and I have to say I felt awful for the CM's on CL. Several times we needed to hurry our kids along because people were just berating the CM's. It was awful. One lady screaming because she did not get a daybed. Seriously, screaming! another gentleman who was furious because his suite was not on the club level. Another guest furious because they didn't have any ADRs and couldn't get a 'decent meal anywhere'. The kids don't want to go back to the BC because of how many unhappy people there were there. I really felt awful for the CM's. I sent a note to guest services to say how much I admired these folks because there is no way I could have been as professional as they were.

Sorry to hear this and good for you on sending a nice note to Guest Relations. We have always found the CL CM's at BC and YC so pleasant. They truly went out of their way during our December trip to be kind and helpful. Shame on those people.

We did get a daybed, we were in room 5652 right next to the lounge. No noise except the ice machine! which I only heard one time. Small door, full balcony, view of the entrance of BWV. Did you get your daybed?

We were looking for 1 chair for the 5 of us.

My son made a ham and chese sandwich on a bagel each AM! My daughter - his twin sister - took a bowl of grits and topped it with ham and cheese!
Me - I thought the chocolate croissants were so good! There was plenty of good food at breakfast and during 'evening snacks' :D

Yes we also got our daybed! We were in 5692 -- I posted some pictures a few pages back.

In your next post, you mention your son and his twin sister -- I have twins too! Mine are both girls. They are 11 and had on fancy bday pins each day made by Neil :).

SMALL WORLD! My twins are 11! I also have an older daughter - she is 12. How funny.

I'm definitely going to be looking for the rum Dole whips too! Just out of curiosity, are you a B52s fan or something? I just heard their "Love Shack" song on the XM 80s station the other day and thought of you -lol:)

I do love that song!! But it's also a play off my maiden name (which had 'shak' in it) from when I was in college...ahhhh so many years ago!

That made me smile that you thought of me when that song played - LOL!! Fun!!

The Queen Victoria Room is a separate area that has only 4 tables with wonderful harp music floating softly inside. The room has dedicated servers so you don't share with the big room. Each table is seated at a different time maybe 30ish minutes apart. It is very quiet and romantic. It is also the same menu courses (10) as the Chef's Table so food is similar or the same. I've not done the Chef's Table at V&A but we did do one last July at Flying Fish. There was not enough "Chef interaction" to justify the noise IMO since you are in the kitchen!

Yell if you have more questions and hope this helps.

Liz

That is helpful - thanks. I love harp music. When DH and I got married we had a really small wedding and the only music I wanted was a harp for when guests arrived and walking down the aisle!

I think the Queen Victoria room sounds like the better option really! One of my worries, and this may sound silly, is that the chefs table would be hot. When I think of kitchens I think loud (like you mentioned) and hot and I hate being hot when I eat!!

You'll love it even if you choose the main dining room. We explained our tastes in wine and let them choose one for us. I think we had 2 bottles (maybe even 3!) and added on the Kobe Beef making 11 courses total. I chose to have just a bite of each bread and butter so I managed to eat most of every course except the end of meal chocolates. Neither DH or I are caviar people so that was an easy no :)

I wouldn't plan on much after either. We arrived at 5:30, left at 9:30 and watched Wishes from our GF room balcony. If there was ever a magical night, that was it!

Hello club level fans. I have grand flo royal palm booked for the first part of my vacation and am considering booking the 2nd half of my vacation either boardwalk inn club or wilderness lodge club level. Fyi I have stayed cl often at all wdw resorts except wl and akl. Rpc and bwi are favorites. We also have done split stays quite a few times and usually do a mk/ep resort split.

I know I enjoy gf rpc and bwi innkeepers but the wl is beautiful and im interested. I scrolled through the thread pics and they all make me smile. So since pics dont help with the decision I guess im looking for opinions on wilderness lodge club level. the food in wl club looks wonderful ;)

Thanks!

This reminds me of sitting first class on the airplane and seeing people act this same way ! We have been fortunate at CR and GF not to see people acting quite this bad but still with that "entitlement" attitude. I like the Disney bubble thought...I always try to be happy, happy at Disney as just being there makes me forget all the bad things happening outside Disney if only for a little bit.:flower1:

WL CL was our first CL experience and while it's been years since our stay, I remember it like it was yesterday as we loved everything about it and wouldn't hesitate to return. I can't compare it to BWI CL as we've never stayed there, but WL CL ranks a very close second to GF RPC for me. The lounge is the same as RPC in that it overlooks the lobby (which I love) and the CL CMs were awesome! Good luck deciding, but I don't think you would be disappointed if you gave it a try.
