EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

Hello,

We booked our next Disney vacations : May 2015 and it will be our first time CL (we booked a Deluxe Room)
I received the IPO's email yesterday and it made my day!!!

Already sent them back the ADRs we want to make

I am so excited!!! Already counting the days until then

:wave2:

We decided to splurge and have booked 3 CL TPV at the Polynesian for December 2015, can anyone tell me when I should expect to receive a contact email from the CL concierge? It was my understanding when I booked that I would receive it within 48 hours of booking the reservations but I have not had any contact as of today (27 days after making reservations). We are new to CL and just trying to get our bearings.

We never received a contact email either and we booked our August 2015 CL stay on July 30. I just sent them an email introducing ourselves. I received an auto reply thanking me for contacting them and it said I would get a reply from a CM within 24 hrs. pixiedust:

Congrats! I usually just send an email when I book, rather than waiting. Post #2 of this thread has the contact information for the Polynesian. Include your last name and reservation # on the subject line.
You can tell them who's coming, ask questions, or whatever would be helpful.
Happy planning! :goodvibes

Thank you for your help.
We will be celebrating a big birthday while there and want to plan something unexpected.
We are looking forward to this trip even though it is so far in the future and I personally can hardly wait have all of the kids and grandkids together for one vacation.

Can I add requests for rooms through the IPO or do I need to call the reservation line? We booked a WL club level trip for November 2015. I haven't been contacted by IPO yet and we booked the day the packages came out. I figured we wouldn't hear from them right away since it's so far away still.

You can add room requests with IPO but I also recommend adding those requests with CRO or your travel agent. Go ahead and email WL IPO whenever you'd like, there's no need to wait for them to reach out to you. :)

Hey gang! :goodvibes:grouphug::wave2::flower3:

We had a couple of people who were going to update us on the temporary lounge at the BC CL. Any news yet? I'd love to have a report and/or some photos to update this FAQ! Thanks!!

Oh, also meant to say, I updated page 1 with my BWI CL photos. :thumbsup2

I'm always looking for photos and reports anyone would like to donate to this FAQ. You can PM me links. Thanks! :goodvibes

Hi!

We just booked a CR--Atrium Club Level Standard Room!!! :cool1: Wondering if we should request anything specific? 18 DAYS!!!!

Thanks!!

I can't help on any room requests, but wanted to say have a great trip :). We've never stayed at the CR, but we're hoping to try CR CL next year.

We just returned from a wonderful stay at the GFR's main building. Before we left, we made sure we once again generously "thanked" all those CMs, especially those food & beverage servers and housekeeping staffers, who made our visit enjoyable.

All the best. :thumbsup2

Glad you had a great trip :wizard:.

How exciting :yay:. May 2015 seems far away, but it will be here before you know it. Happy planning in the mean time :goodvibes.

I've always gotten notified from IPO, but as others have said, some people don't hear from them. I would email IPO to introduce yourself and give them any requests or ask any questions you may have :).

Sounds like a great trip you are planning :wizard:.

Like TigrLvsPooh posted, I would have your requests noted with CRO as well as with IPO. For some unknown reason, some people get a welcome email from IPO and some don't, but you can contact them at any time :goodvibes.

I have some pics of the temporary lounge at BC. Just got back last night. The view was gorgeous. It was a bit small though.

I agree - the room felt very cramped. When the lounge was full, the people standing in line were very close to the tables. In the old lounge, if you were in line for food, you were in that little separate area, so you didn't necessarily feel you had people right on top of you while you were eating.

I did not care for the temporary lounge, and I'd stay elsewhere until the renovations are complete.

I did not care for it either. Honestly, I think my family and I are finally over CL, which is great for my wallet!! :rotfl2:

Just not enough value (for us) for the $$ spent. But, that's just us after 3 CL stays. :goodvibes

There seems to be an abundance of lazy elitists at RPC this week. It just might be a "Jersey thing," but I'd like to smack the livin' #&*@ out of those "I paid for it and therefore I am entitled" types.

Sorry to rain on this, but as others have said, it's not about being lazy. It's about CM's telling guests to do this. Whenever I eat out, I tend to bus my own dishes, but nowadays most CL's do not want guests picking up after themselves. CR used to put out a tray - no more. Last summer, WL had a fixed area for dishes, but whenever I tried to bus, a CM would come over and semi-politely yell at us.

I've also noted the same at Portofino at US. They don't want guests to clean their area either. And FYI, I don't think most the guests were from Jersey....seemed like almost half the guests were from Great Britain!

It might not be just appearances. When CM's pick up dishes, they wipe the table before new guests sit.

We've had pretty good luck getting emails from CL staff. Here's what we've noted: we tend to get an email at about the 190-185 day mark. The few times they didn't initiate contact was when we booked CL AFTER the 180 day mark. I'm not suggesting it's hard rule, just a pattern I've noticed.

As others have said, you are free to contact them yourself. Usually, if I book at under 180 days, I'm immediately on top of booking any ADR's. CM's can only book what is available, beyond that might be a judgment call: different location, different time, different day.

Here's a tip I can tell you: booking in-room food treats + club level is kind of a waste, because they will be the same. Often items like desserts/cookies in the hotel restaurants are also the same as CL offerings, and the CL offers guests plenty of desserts.

The flowers are pricey, but quality is excellent.

Just being CL is a huge perk everyone is sure to enjoy.

for us, if I'm going to add one extra perk - it's a rental car/minivan. It's not romantic, but gives everyone a better experience all visit. One prior tip, we had a minivan with a DVD player. Generally, I wouldn't want one...but at WDW, it was fun. It would be totally fun to play a personal photo DVD as a birthday treat for the groups while commuting to the parks.

Just to piggyback this...we just got back from 10 nights BC CL and it drove me nuts that they wouldn't let us clean off our table. They insisted we leave it there and didn't even provide trash cans or a place to dispose of our stuff. It felt so wrong to leave it but that's what we were instructed to do.

I'm due to check in BC CL on Saturday 6th September. The comments about the temporary lounge worry me. Is there any indication when the refurb will be complete on the original lounges?

Thanks

So here's a hard question, how do you guys decide what resort to stay at? Do you always pick somewhere new to try different CLs or do you stick to one place?

Anyone have opinions about these three CL resort options? Which would you prefer and/or which lounge is the best? We are a family of all adults and sometimes it's extremely hard to please everyone, but I think we all would enjoy any of these resorts.

Poly CL
BWI Deluxe Room CL
GF Sugar Loaf CL

We are going in August 2015 if that's helpful. I'm so torn between these three options that I have no idea where to stay! This summer we stayed at the BC and I loved it, but I do want to stay somewhere else next year. We are planning on 13 days and we are not willing to do a split stay so I want to be sure about my choice, but I swear everyday I think I've decided and I'm ready to book then the next morning I've changed my mind already!

How do you guys do it, do you just make a choice and stick with it or are you always wavering back and forth like I seem to do?
