EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

I would e-mail. I left a message at the BC and a week went by without hearing anything. I e-mailed them and got an automated response within minutes. Not even an hour later I had a response from a real person. I definitely prefer talking to someone on the phone about certain things, but it appears they fastest way to get in contact with the people who work on CL is e-mail. Maybe just e-mail them and ask them to call you?

Hi Gerberdaisy! I wanted to let you know we stayed at BC CL last October and had a fantastic experience!:cool1::cool1: Now I only have 2 CL experiences total at YC and BC but have been really satisfied at both. I was already prepared (thanks DIS) on what the food selections probably would be so we were great with what was offered. I found the CMs to be very accomodating and I asked for stuff on several different occasions. There was one family that tended to dominate but as soon as they cleared out a tray of food (Ridiculous when people are clearly waiting) a CM was right there to replace it. The CM Emily, I wanted to bring home with me. She was so great with my kids and also the desk CMs greeted us by name everytime we walked by. Again, I know I am a CL newbie, but I have had no complaints!:thumbsup2

Thank you so much! We are so excited to be at BC, and add to that CL. Super excited! Thank you for sharing. :)

Hi All,
We are staying at the CR 12th floor club level next month. Love to see some recent pic's of the lounge and/or reports. We can't wait!

I've stayed at WL CL and AKL CL and I would have to give the edge to WL. We were just at the AKL CL last week, our room was soooo far from the lounge we rarely ventured that far unless we were leaving the resort or coming in from being gone. I much prefer the resorts that have a dedicated club level where your room is on the same level as the lounge.

AKL CL is very nice, we enjoy the food and drink offerings, and the resort itself is gorgeous. Really the only down side was the insanely long walks.

Good luck deciding! :thumbsup2

My one negative (and to me it was a huge negative) is the balcony on the CL rooms. I hated the solid rail. A lot. Totally ruins sitting out on the balcony for me. I don't want to sit and stare at a wall. I did know about it before my stay and thought I'd be ok with it but I wasn't. So it's my fault for going with CL anyway. As much as I loved everything else about WL and their CL I won't return due to the balcony issue.

I may end up regretting AKL CL due to the distance to the lounge. I'll know next month. Like the balcony at WL, I knew in advance what I was getting in to and opted to go through with the plans anyway. In our case, the cost of the CL room and the cost of the regular Arusha view room was so small it isn't like I'm spending a lot for something that I end up disliking. It's less than $100 difference, total, for our entire trip.

I hear you on the balconies. I thought I was going to bypass that issue by having a deluxe room (which aren't on the 7th floor). Mine was ground floor and it was the tiniest patio I've ever seen. One chair literally was behind a wall and had no view even if standing. It was barely possible for two people to be on it at all. Thankfully, the lounge itself gave us a pleasant place to congregate.

When our kids were younger I never really paid much attention to the view or the balcony. We would usually spend all of our time either in the parks or at the pool. Literally we only went to our room to change clothes or to sleep. Because of this we always went with standard view for CL stays. Now that the kids are older, and we aren't hitting the parks commando anymore, I find we spend a lot more time enjoying our room and resort. The last 2 trips we've taken we've discovered we absolutely LOVE our balcony and view. :thumbsup2 At the CR in March and at the YC in June we loved our views. :goodvibes That is now a high priority for us on all future trips for sure. :cloud9:

Just back from Poly CL!

We've stayed at the Poly 2x before, but this was our first CL stay ever!

We booked a GV CL room, and were "upgraded" to a first floor room on the lagoon side of the building, room 1515. Those quotations are there because that view consisted of a big green construction fence about 25 feet from the patio! ;) Not complaining about that, though... we could see the top castle spires sitting down and the entire castle in the distance, standing up... plus the GF and Poly marina toward the left - I guess that's better than the "jungle" view on the other side!

The CM who checked us in said that they were actually "overbooked and having to send people to other resorts"!! I checked before we left for the trip just to see how crowded it would be, and there were GV CL rooms available, but no LV or TPV... Maybe the overbooking was due to the fact that they wouldn't DARE put someone who actually paid for LV or TPV into those last 6 rooms??

The food in the lounge was about what I expected, quality-wise... The only thing that I didn't care for was Tuesday night's appetizers, conch fritters (ok) and vegetable cornucopias (tasted like a hotpocket) The cheeses were always delicious, especially the boursin and the herb cheese offered on Friday night. We had desserts on 2 nights, and those were very good - raspberry mousse and an apple tart on Friday and mini strawberry cheesecakes and chocolate peanut butter cake on Tuesday.

I don't know if we'll stay CL again soon, but it was nice to try! We have been debating whether we liked it more than our non-CL TPV room on 3rd floor of Tuvalu, we had last time. We spent a lot of quality time on the balcony that trip! The patio wasn't shaded enough for hanging out much, but we did like the direct beach access. For me, 3rd floor balcony wins. It was nice to have the robe, but I wouldn't have felt the need for it if I were sitting on the balcony in the mornings rather than the open patio. The chocolates we received on our first day were good, but the middle one on the bottom row was missing!!! We joked that the maid must have needed a snack!!:lmao:

The resort itself was pretty empty compared to previous trips. The pool or beach was never very crowded. Service standards were high, as always. Cookies (same ones served in CL lounge) were being handed out one day when we came into the GCH. Also, a basket of dry towels were near the entrances to the GCH on rainy days.

That's my little review! :)

Thanks for your review. We love the Poly and even though we've only had one stay there (not CL) and have tried other resorts, the Poly is still our favorite (although we have loved every resort we've tried). With that said, I am waiting for the 2015 rates to be released so I can book for next year as we want to go back to the Poly, but this time try CL.

Great review of the Poly CL, once construction is complete that is our next CL to try.

Thanks for the review! :thumbsup2 I'm glad you liked the room you got, :goodvibes I have to say that I would have pitched a fit if they tried to move me around to LV side on the far end when I had GV booked. We actually really like GV because we can see the quiet pool and watch the kids when they are down there swimming. I know the exact room 1515 you were in because that is right behind the green wall. I took a bunch of videos and put them on YouTube of those rooms. I wonder if some people declined the "upgrade" and that's why they had to move them to other hotels?? :scratchin

Super excited for our September stay YC CL!! We've done BC and GF club levels before and food options were better at GF but the staff I thought made the experience amazing at the BC.

We're SV right now, and I'm ok with a view of the front entrance but I did see some photos of a room overlooking what appeared to be dumpsters and I would not be ok with that! Anyone have recommendations, should I upgrade to GV to save myself the grief?

There are a lot of YC CL SV rooms--chances are very slim that you would get the one that overlooks the dumpsters. If you're eligible to upgrade to GV and it's not a big deal with your finances to do so, then go for it if it gives you the peace of mind. But otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Thank you for the input! The difference between the garden view is not much for our trip so I think I will swap to GV! If I'm paying that much for a room and I got the unlucky dumpster room, I think I would cry! My DH and I spend a lot of time on the balcony after our little ones go to bed, so I can't imagine overlooking trash :0

Has anyone been to the BWI Innkeepers club after this recent rehab? We haven't been there in 3 years and are returning on 8/25. I was wondering what might be different.

Hello everyone -

I'm wondering what the general consensus is concerning online check-in for Club Level guests. We have not stayed CL since 2001, so we are wondering if it is necessary and/or advisable?

I know there are differing opinions on this, so your feedback is much appreciated!!

Many thanks! :)

I am relieved to read this. I was only able to book a SV YC CL room and we've never booked SV before so I was concerned. I know the GV rooms are only a few $ more, but one never became available. In fact, this is the first trip I recall that anytime I look online for rooms, just to get an idea of occupancy levels for our dates (6/22 - 7/3), every single Deluxe room is booked! So between the SV (just for 3 days) and 100% occupancy, I was getting concerned.

I posted newly rehabbed BWI lounge and room photos on Thursday to the BWI/BWV thread that's hyperlinked in my signature. I also posted a couple new hall carpeting photos yesterday. Not to ruin the surprise, but not much at all was done to the lounge. In fact, they didn't even get a fridge:sad2:

I always tell people that it never hurts to do OCI and it can be fun doing something proactive related to your trip, but when adding any room location requests, the choices can be very limited and pre-set.

Always make sure that if you have any room location requests, you either have them added to your reservation by calling or emailing the IPO and/or the WDTC - I do both. The Room Assignor sees all requests - IPO/WDTC and OCI. OCI really just adds your credit card information to your reservation so that you don't have to present it at check-in.

We have stayed CL level several times but this is the first year that I have had them make my dining reservations. It will be so much easier to let them do it but I am worried we may not get our requests. For those of you who let them do your reservations, how has it gone? Any problems?
Thanks!
