EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

On the other hand we loved our WL CL experience. The hotel is beautiful. There was such a wide variety of food offerings in the evening and the CM's always greeted us with a welcoming smile and a hello. They even came over to talk about what our plans were for the day and offered suggestions. I don't think you'll be dissapointed with WL.

We had the same great experience with the CMs during our WL CL stay. It was always nice to hear "hello, XXXX family" when we got off the elevator or when we entered the lounge area. We have stayed 2 other clubs since our WL CL stay and there are others we want to try, but WL CL is always a consideration when it comes to booking our trips because we had such a great experience there.

prgal, thanks for posting! As some may know, I absolutely love BC. It will always be one of my very favorite resorts for many reasons. It was the first place we stayed CL, and our first BC CL stay prompted many more CL stays at BC and at other resorts. We always love BC CL CM Neil, and a great many other CMs at BC CL went above and beyond during our first stay there. For example, one of our boys lost his shield from the BBB Knight Package, and we filed a lost and found report - just in case. A BC CL CM actually replaced it and left a brand new one in our room!

As much as I love BC, and our first experience with CL there was wonderful, we felt the same as prgal during our last BC CL stay. We had a negative check-in experience (although a manager remedied it to an extent we thought was extraordinary.) And the CMs in the lounge were not as friendly as in the past. Our good friends stayed CL at BC since then and reported the same. Makes me sad - BC is such a wonderful resort.

Does anyone know if when staying at the grand Floridian RPC if the CMs will give you bottles of water before departing to the parks each day? My husband said he didn't think so,but other hotels we have stayed at with club level have done that before. I sure love the GF and I'd love to stay there again. I think their food options are pretty grand as well

Thanks

Could some people please post if you have had good experiences at BC CL? This will be both our first stay at BC and CL. I am trying not to let the recent reviews on the thread scare me because this is a huge treat for us. Thanks :)

Hated the buses from BC when we stayed there a couple of years ago...too many resort stops to and from and for some reason it seemed BC was the first going and last coming back...

Did like the boats though and the overall feel of the resort. :-) I'm sure YC CL was amazing. :-) How'd you get upgraded?? Did they tell you when you went to check in at WL?

The bus service has changed since! Last August only BC/YC shared busses to MK or AK! It was great. Only time all Epcot resorts shared bus service was for DTD. YC is first puck up/drop off. A vast improvement.

It was a complete surprise!

We booked at POR for our first two nights (booked through Orbitz), 6 nights YC garden view w/ dining and tickets, 1 night at WL CL (booked through Orbitz). When we went to check in at YC that morning the gentleman checking us in just smiled and said that he needed to get someone from upstairs to check us in. pixiedust:pixiedust: We were upgraded to a water view CL room! We had originally booked CL for August, but then downgraded and moved to June. We were put in a handicap accessible room, so no tub, but who's complaining?? We were really blessed that is for sure!!
:thumbsup2 congrats! What a great surprise!

I just returned from my first CL stay at BC! The resort was really lovely; I adore the decor, the pool and the overall ambiance. I also love being able to walk to both Epcot and HS, especially during SWW.

CL was very nice, but I didn't feel as though the CM's really were into spreading the Disney magic. For example, I inquired about check out and storing my bags for the day. The CM gestured towards the elevator and said, "Oh, just bring them downstairs and bell services will take them." Um...was I wrong to expect that they would assist me with my bags? (Again, I'm a CL novice so perhaps my expectations were too high?) Later that day, two CM's were chatting about getting blood work done and what a bummer it was to fast and how the nurse said she had crappy veins. Again, not quite what I expected!!

Another thing that threw me off a bit were the two families staying CL who hovered outside of the lounge waiting for it to open. They descended on the food like vultures, piling their plates high and grabbing as much beer from the fridge as they could. They allowed one of their children to repeatedly cut people in the line to grab additional food. Has anyone else experienced this sort of thing?!?

This August, I'm staying CL at WL. We were visiting WL for dinner at AP, so I asked if we might be able to tour the Old Faithful Club and the CM's happily accommodated my request. I'm really looking forward to that CL stay as everyone was incredibly friendly, chatty and genuinely happy to assist us.

Now - for all of you CL experts - was my BC stay just a dud or is that the norm? Thanks in advance!!
I'm so sorry to hear this. Our first CL stay was BC, and it was wonderful. The CMs were great, and went out of their way to engage my daughter, made her feel like a celebrity, lol. Every time we passed the desk, coming or going they chatted with her, asking where we were heading, and on return asked how our day went. They noticed how much she enjoyed the taffy Candy in the bowl on the CM desk and when we checked out, gave her an entire bag of it to take home.
Sounds like the staff has changed :sad2:

I have heard of the CL hogs at various resorts :scared1: in fact there was one story of a guy going in with a stroller and filling it up with beer  I've never had the pleasure of witnessing this behaviour! But during our stay at AKL CL there were a couple of children who were allowed to go up to the food tables alone, and handled everything with their hands  ick.
Rude, boorish behaviour is alive and well at wdw. Ugh.

And it's at the parks too. Twice in the same day people sailed right past me while I was waiting my turn for a slide tube and cut in front of me to get it first!

And again in the lazy river there were about 6 of us in line on the stairs waiting for tubes. A woman in her 60s with husband callers to husband, and says loudly, come on, let's just float. The minute she gets past us all she marches up and grabs 2 tubes. We were all so stunned we just stood there with our mouths gaping open! Sheech.

Sigh, and this is why there is now a CM giving out the wine. We really enjoyed our CL stay at BC. We found the staff, especially Chip, to be delightful. I will say however, of the CL stays we've had, the patrons at BC seems to be the rudest. They were definitely the biggest appetizer hogs.

I agree with you about the CM's at the WL CL. We just got home on Monday after a week long stay at the CR CL and always found ourselves comparing them to the CM's at the WL. At the CR they were generally nice, but they seemed to be very business like, often rarely greeting you as you walked past. They always seemed busy preparing their documents for arriving guests and etc. At the WL you could not walk past the desk without a pleasant greeting. The one exception at the CR CL was Robert... He stood out from among those around him and always acknowledged us with a greeting or some nice small talk.

We've never stayed at RPC, but at YC CL, we just asked for the bottles water and they would go grab it for us. I'm assuming they don't keep it out bc people would go crazy for it. Doesn't hurt to ask! Goodluck!

Our experience at BC CL wasn't necessarily bad, it just wasn't what I expected. As I said, the resort is beautiful, its location can't be beat if you love Epcot (as we do!) and the pool area is fantastic. Your experience will be what you make it so just enjoy!! Lots of Dis-ers have had a wonderful time at BC! PS: - when is your stay there?

Same camp. I LOVE YC CL but really disappointed in BC CL. Cramped lounge, missing utensils, lemonade gone... is my biggest issue. HOWEVER if you are going to try it after the refurb when lounge has been expanded I would definitely give it another try in my case. But I wouldn't recommend it now until refurb done...

We just returned from a three-night stay at YC CL (thankfully, availability opened up and we were able to stay put at the YC and didn't need to move over to the Poly for our last night). This was our third time at the YC and our first time staying CL there. We have also stayed CL at the CR, Poly, GF and BW.

All in all, it was a good stay. I do have some minor complaints, but nothing major, and certainly nothing that would preclude us from staying there again (particularly since the YC is one of our favorite resorts.)

First, we received a room with no daybed (we have five people in our family), and CL was fully booked, so we had to deal with a rollaway, which was fine, but I was a little off-put that some other families with four were assigned rooms with daybeds and we were not (it came up in conversation with another family who was at the CM desk for the same reason).

The lounge was nice, and I liked that the drink area is separated from the food area since it cuts down on congestion. The food offerings were about what I expected and pretty standard from what is offered in the other lounges. I do think I'm getting a little tired of CL breakfasts and wish that they would change them up a bit--even a change in fruit from day to day, or maybe having scrambled eggs instead of oatmeal every few days? We stayed at Springhill Suites ($120 night for a walk-in rate) on our way down to Florida, and they serve a complimentary continental breakfast that puts Disney CL offerings to shame. It would also be great if all of the CL lounges had the same coffee machines--the Nespresso espresso/cappuccino machines in the GF/CR lounge far surprises the Nescafe machine in most of the other lounges. I also wasn't too bothered by the CM pouring wine/guarding the beer at night: I was able to get what I wanted, and was happy that the YC had a Pinot Grigio available, which hasn't been something I've been able to get at any of the other CL lounges.

The staff was very nice and attentive, but I wouldn't say they're on the same caliber or as enthusiastic as what we've experienced at the GF or CR. Both of those resorts left special things in our rooms for birthday or anniversary celebrations (balloons, chocolate), and we were celebrating both a birthday and our anniversary with no fanfare or any extra special touches from them. Come to think of it, we didn't even get the first-night box of chocolate (or the special champagne that I've heard the YC provides upon check in) that we've gotten at all other CL resorts. And as a side note, we also didn't get our toiletries replenished by our maid (we had to ask for them), which was weird as that has never happened in all of the nights we've spent at Disney (CL or not).

Again, we did have a very enjoyable trip and all of the staff members were very kind and pleasant to deal with; however, the YC CL just didn't really go above and beyond like some of the other CL staff that we've dealt with in the past.

Thanks for your review thisismyusername.

I'm surprised that they didn't have a room for you with a daybed and having 5 people. I have 5 in our family and we are always given a room with a daybed. I was under the impression that Disney only guarantees a daybed if you have 5. Makes me a little nervous about our upcoming trip.

I had the same experience with the welcome chocolates. The first time we stayed CL at BC we were upgraded so I didn't even know about that until I got home and started reading about CL. And last year when we were at BWI the first room we were given didn't have the chocoates but the second room we moved to did.:confused3 I guess housekeeping is supposed to put them there and some forget. I don't know.

I'm glad you had a great time.

My experience at BC CL was very similar. We didn't get any chocolates in our room and no champagne at check-in, although I did see others get it. :confused3

Oh well!! Looking forward to my WL CL stay in August!

From what I understand, parties of 5 are given preference for a room with a daybed, but since there are only so many of them, it is not guaranteed as one might not be available when you check in.

Sure, I know that. But parties of five should be given priority over parties of four. Really, not a huge deal, but if they're giving us a non-daybed room, we shouldn't need to go to our room to discover that and then need to walk all the way back to the lounge to discuss it and have it straightened out.

Further, if that's what they assign because that's all they have left, the CM should say it's a non-daybed room upon check in and arrange for the rollaway immediately without us needing to do a thing or worry about a thing. This is the second time we've been given a non-daybed room at the YC, and we've only stayed there with our kids THREE times. They've only gotten it right once upon us checking in--not a great average.

May I ask what the roll away bed is like, then? This will be our first club level stay (GF) and are a family of 5 as well and am hoping it's not like the old roll aways at POR before they added the murphy beds...

I'm pretty sure you'll be fine as I think that all of the rooms (except some of the specialty rooms, like the dormer rooms) at the GF have daybeds. I think that's also true of all of the rooms at the GF and Poly too.

It was not low to the ground like the old Murphy beds at POR. It looked to be a standard twin size mattress (possibly slightly smaller) on a rollaway frame. Same height as the regular bed. I asked the staff to remove the chair from the room so it wasn't tight. It really was fine for my 13 year old daughter, and I'm not really complaining about the fact that she had to sleep on a rollaway: I'm complaining more about the fact that we're regularly assigned rooms that sleep four when we have five (no babies, either) at the YC, and we have to straighten it out at the beginning of our vacation. Surely, a note can be made when the room is picked that we'll need a rollaway, and that should be provided and put in the room without us needing to go and handle it ourselves. It's just not a good way to start vacation when one of us needs to stand out in the hall with the suitcases and the kids (since we don't know if we'll be moved) while the other adult goes to the desk to straighten it out…

Nothing against your post as I was just responding to another poster that was under the impression that a room with a daybed was guaranteed with a party of 5, but I do agree with you and the fact that not all rooms come with a daybed is one of the reasons we haven't stayed at the BC again or tried the YC (even though we are a family of 4, as once we stayed at the Poly and GF, it's hard to not have a daybed). I'm just not sure why all BC/YC rooms don't come with a daybed since the resorts do accommodate 5 and I'm sure a lot of families of 5 stay there for that reason expecting to have a daybed.
