EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

If you need a special type of yogurt or other food, drink, etc, I would recommend just grab a taxi and make a run to the store. There are grocery stores close to Disney property... Goodings, Publix, etc, then you can go buy whatever you need. :thumbsup2 I certainly wouldn't bother the CL CM's about something like this. They don't control what types and brands of food are ordered for the lounge and they certainly can't guarantee what will be there the days of your trip.

I just wanted to throw out there that when I was staying to WL CL they didn't have boiled eggs and I needed them and all I had to do was ask and they had them sent over every morning for me.. just a thought!

Okay, so my question is about GF CL.. is there a difference in the CL experience (food offerings, etc) between the outer bldg and the main bldg locations? Like is the outer bldg (Sugar Loaf) chintzier or something?

Yes, club level castmembers can handle special dietary needs and/or restrictions through in-room dining. I have a relative with a food allergy and his breakfast was brought to him daily at no charge. But to me this is different than someone who just wants a special brand of yogurt for personal taste.

If you didn't have over 1,000 posts, I would totally think this is a Troll post. Can't imagine a $1.00 cup of yogurt could make or break where someone stays.
Yikes!---kind of harsh! People on this thread regularly are asking questions about certain brands and particular items available CL to help them decide whether or not it's worth (not just money wise, but piece of mind) it to stay. Often it's the idea of having all your favorite things available at your fingertips, not really a matter of whether someone can or should/should not shell out "$1 for yogurt".

I don't think anyone was trying to be harsh, it just came across as a very specific and unusual problem. I worry about people getting their hopes up for something special that isn't there when they arrive. A lounge fridge might have a certain brand or flavor of yogurt one day but it doesn't mean it's exactly the same type every single day for the rest of the year. Sometimes they run out of things, or have a different flavor, etc. So if someone needs something that is so specific (like plain flavored greek yogurt) I just think they'd be happier ordering grocery delivery or hopping in a cab to the store. :thumbsup2

It was meant to be more funny than harsh...but to explain my point more being that they can be picked up rather cheaply anywhere. There seem to be SO many wonderful things that CL offers... for the maybe, say 5 or so cups of yogurt that they'd eat over the duration of their stay, you can just buy them. Can't imagine that would make you not want to stay at a CL. Does that make sense?

But in all honesty, I did check the amount of posts cause I seriously thought it was a troll post!

Thank you TigrLvsPooh, for helping keep the peace before things escalate, as they can quickly! Intent does not always come across well while typing/messaging etc.
that's one thing that's nice about Disboards in general, the people and their postings much more often than not are very nice and positive, and really try to help answer other people questions/concerns.
You are right about things changing at a moments notice at resorts and in parks and restaurants. That's good for all of us to keep in mind!

Well said. :thumbsup2
An additional option for shopping( near the Boardwalk Inn) is the Screen Door General Store.

Thank you. I wasn't trying to offend... It's just hard to express what you're trying to say over the Internet. Next time I will elaborate. Sorry bout that.

This reminds me of a funny story! One time we were staying at the BC CL with my Mom. She is addicted to Diet Lipton Green Tea. It's the only thing she drinks. She doesn't even drink water. :upsidedow I told her before we got there she wouldn't be able to find that in the lounge or the hotel, and I told her we could ship some down ahead of time or make a trip to the store via cab. She assured me that wasn't necessary and she didn't want to cause a problem, she would just find something to drink. Well after the first day, listening to her complain non-stop about the Gold Peak tea, which she hated, I got up early one morning, took a cab to Goodings, bought the tea, and put it in our room fridge. Then I told her the castmembers must have put it there. LOL!!!!!! :rotfl2: If I would have told her I bought it she would have been so mad, so a little white lie saved my suffering the rest of the week! :rolleyes1 :goodvibes :littleangel:

If it's any consolation, the fruit on the bottom kind can be spooned into a bowl plain, just until you reach the fruit section. Otherwise, why not contact CL CM at the resort and ask how to go about making the arrangements to be sure it's there. I have read that the description of CL CM as being able to purchase items/find specifics gifts etc for guests. Probably not free :) but you would be purchasing it somewhere, anyway. If you are able to arrange with them to have it there, and you are both happy with the rest if CL lounge offerings, I say go for it! The old faithful club looks sooooooo lovely! I can't imagine many nicer places to enjoy a breakfast.

Thank you so much for your helpful replies, happymomof1! We were leaning more toward the BC or AKL for our next trip, but who knows? I have heard a lot of great things about the Old Faithful Club over the years. :)

And thank you for the spot on defense. We are more than capable of purchasing yogurt if we have to, but it is my personal opinion that a food item as popular as this one should already be offered. Given that it's not and a staple of my mom's diet, perhaps we will just decide that CL is not for us yet. Not judging those posters on here who think CL is already perfect!

Really? I have never understood the obsession on the DIS with seeking out "trolls" whenever anyone posts anything remotely abnormal. For the record, I joined the DIS over thirteen years ago when I was twelve years old because I have a genuine passion for Disney planning. Feel free to actually do your research and look over my other posts instead of jumping to an unnecessary conclusion.

With regard to your second post, we'll have to agree to disagree about a missing food item sometimes making the difference in a decision re: whether or not to stay CL.

Seriously no offense taken, though.

I think they were deciding if CL was worth it for their trip. If they wouldn't be partaking in much of the food and drink offerings, it wouldn't make much sense to stay CL and fork up that extra cost.

This is precisely it. Thank you, Koh1977! I have felt before that the CL offerings might not match our tastes (my parents don't really drink alcohol, for example) and just thought a lack of healthy breakfast options for my mom might be the nail in the coffin.

Just want to clarify that I never expressed any unwillingness to make a run to the store and was simply trying to gain a sense of what type of CL CM requests are "normal." You clearly do not think this one is, so that is all I needed to know given that you are a frequent CL guest and we are not. Thanks for the info.

Yes, it is different. As I stated from the start, this is simply an issue of preference.

I don't think anyone was trying to be harsh, it just came across as a very specific and unusual problem. Understood. I have been on the DIS long enough to recognize that a lot gets lost in translation on the internet and that, simply stated, a lot of the posters on here are just ridiculous. Appreciate your trying to manage my expectations. That is exactly the reason I asked in the first place!

I just wanted to throw out there that when I was staying to WL CL they didn't have boiled eggs and I needed them and all I had to do was ask and they had them sent over every morning for me.. just a thought!

Thanks for sharing your experience!

Agreed. :thumbsup2 I just feel bad that a simple question about whether or not I can request greek yogurt is taking up so many posts on a thread intended to actually be helpful for potential CL guests.

Hi again!! Just wanted to ask if anyone has stayed at AKV in concierge and if so what floor were the studios on? We are debating trying that out for next April, so came here to ask! We have stayed at AKL before and AKV in Jambo house in a studio too. But not Conceirge, we were in a pool view room on 4th floor. We just came back from a stay at BWV with a BW view in a studio...looking ahead we could do concierge at AKV for less than BW next year. Any tips?

We did AKV Jambo CL and we were on the same floor as the lounge. But we were in a 1 bedroom. I'm not sure if studios are scattered or all on one floor.

did you like it? We travel with our 2 boys 13, 15 and I always keep up with your live trip reports! We have been going yearly since 97 and always looking for something new to try. Just wondering what your thoughts were on AKV concierge?

AKL has a nice club level :) You have no way of knowing who is DVC and who is in a regular room, it's all the same lounge and castmembers. With our 1 bedroom villa it felt like we were in a suite. :goodvibes Kidani is also really nice. Our "Mini Jambo" as wel call it. Our villa there was insanely HUGE, it felt so luxurious. Both resorts are very special. The only thing that keeps us from going back there often is the lack of nightlife and more dining options. We are so spoiled to the Epcot resort nightlife it's hard to stay anywhere else. :D
