EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

Just re- posting this....I know sometimes posts get lost in the shuffle. Any help is appreciated.

Any suggestions for room request at BC standard view and Poly garden view. We definitely want a full balcony at BC and not too far from lounge but not right outside it either. Poly is a little trickier.... as it looks right now that whole side is torn up. Definitely don't want a ground floor. Not sure what to ask for there???:confused3

I think I need help...

Trip in August with the family (CR CL and Poly CL)...set. Booked BC GV CL for DH & I in October for our 30th anniversary, thought I was set but he and I keep going back and forth on whether keeping CL for just the two of us will be worth the extra $$ this time around. He's starting to lean more towards the no and thinks we should drop it and use the savings on more of a variety of apps, especially at F&W booths. When it's just the two of us, we tend to "wing it"...no planned ADR's with the exception of V&A's this trip which will be a huge splurge but that's where we'll celebrate our anniversary.

So what's the Dilemma?? There are absolutely no non-CL rooms available at either BC or YC with our discount. We could move over to a standard vw room at the Boardwalk Inn but I'm just not sure. That resort looks HUGE and I'm nervous about where we could end up, plus not going to lie, the clown pool freaks me out just a smidge :sad2:.

What to do, what to do.....

I would keep BC CL. It's closer to the world showcase, you have breakfast provided in the mornings, the pool is better, and even if you don't eat any evening appetizers at all I still think it's worth it over BWI non-CL.

That's a tough call but as much as we love club level, I'd probably take the chance on Boardwalk if it were my husband and I. I would save the money we would have to spend on food for the kids and splurge on F&W. Maybe you can request a standard view room that is close to lobby??

We bring two high velocity fans with us, we couldn't hear a dump truck driving through a nitroglycerin plant :D :P
Wow, I've never heard that one before! Not a bad idea! I should get one of the small noise machines like my nephew uses to sleep. We are actually driving this time, so that would work, but my husband is already worried about fitting everything in the car since he bought me a mid-size SUV for Christmas that is much smaller than our former full-size...having a teen and tween girl requires a lot of luggage:) but I think he's worrying about nothing.

Regarding bottled water, as this has come up again recently. The subject goes back and forth.

We've stayed at all CL's. Only one has ever given us bottled water, CR. But before they did, they denied they have ever had it. Then they gave us water, then they went back to telling us they've never had it when we politely asked if they had any.

The CL's have gone back and forth on other subjects as well, like the texting service we tried last summer at CR. This Jan, AKL told us it didn't exist, even though this thread reported more resorts were offering it. We've never been rude or demanding, we just ask politely.

It's just odd. I get that some CM's are not as experienced as others, but the denial aspect it odd. It's like they are telling us our memory is faulty. Maybe next time a CL CM gives us bottled water I should take a picture.

If it matters, last summer, US's Portofino CL had plenty of bottled water. We didn't even have to ask a CM to get it for us.

Every knowledgeable castmember I've discussed this topic with said Disney is hoping the water dispenser in the lounge alleviates the need for individual bottles of water. When we were at the YC CL last summer we did receive plastic dasani bottled water whenever we asked for it, but several CMs mentioned to me they were being phased out and replaced by the water dispenser system. Same story at BWI CL last summer, they still had the glass evian bottles but said they were phasing them out to replace with the same water system. I'm sure for Disney it's a huge cost saving measure. Since those stays last summer we've been at the AKL CL and WL CL, both had water dispenser systems in place. I'm guessing some lounges will also keep bottled water on hand for guests who freak out ;) but I'm sure they want all the CMs to give the same uniform answer that they don't offer it unless forced to cough it up! :D Except for those who plan to keep individual bottles of course, I think someone recently said RPC still had them.

We have to fly Southwest because we have so much luggage. The fans are bulky and take up tons of space, but I'd never sleep a wink without them.

I wasn't sure what to request for my BC CL SV either, so I got an AWESOME IPO person who actually pulled up the map of the fifth floor and put down a set of rooms she thought would be nice and quiet for me (which is my main concern. We don't use balconies. I would like a daybed, but the quiet trumps everything else! You never know who you will get calling the IPO...I usually get someone at GF or AKL, but that time I actually got someone from BC/YC so she knew what to look for! Of course, I won't know if that worked well until We get there May 30th!

I would say exactly what you just typed "full balcony, close to lounge but not next to it" I don't think there's any better way to put it. As for Poly GV I'm not sure what you could say except to specify if you want a balcony or not. I don't think the location in that hallway will make much difference. We always requested 3rd floor, but with the construction you might not go out there anyway.

Here's the old room map if this might help:

5666 was the standard room we had a couple of years ago. Was close to the lounge but not too close.

LOL...that's so funny! I had no idea you actually check those on a plane! I would be afraid they would break! My hubby flies Delta so much that we get free bags, so that's not an issue...but they are eliminating all but one direct flight to Orlando (per day) from my area. I don't like the way southwest does their boarding (because I'm spoiled to always board first but don't pay for first class), but I need to get used to it, I guess, since they have more direct flights now!

Yay, thanks! I had actually found this and accidentally deleted it...so you just saved me some time:) the
IPO girl actually did a good job with my room request, I think (based on the map). I intend to check the room number assigned at check in with this map if our room isn't ready yet so I will know if there's a problem ahead of time!

Also thought I would mention, the new Boathouse restaurant in Downtown Disney will begin accepting reservations May 15th. It is to be added to the online Disney dining reservation system. I'm planning to make a reservation for July. I can't wait to try it! :D

About 3 weeks ago we made a reservation for July at the Boathouse through Open Table. It is still listed on my reservation lists however, I can no longer make a reservation through Open Table for the boathouse. Do you think our reservation is valid? Should I go ahead a try for one through MDE instead??? So confused!

Sorry Erika, I've changed again. Am now at AKL CL 15-22 November. I've never stayed before but wanted to try somewhere different, sitting on the balcony overlooking the Savannah really appeals. I know there's been some not so good reviews but as I'm on the dxdp and not relying on the lounge I think it'll be fine.

We have had several wonderful CL stays at AKL. It's definitely a unique place and I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. It's really amazing to sit out on your balcony and be able to watch the animals. For my family, AKL feels like the most relaxing place at WDW.

Thank you, now I'm very happy :)

Thank you. I will try to call the IPO and with a little luck maybe I'll get Beach Club on the line. Hope everything works out on your requests and you have a great stay!
