EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

Are all the main building deluxe king rooms in GF in the turret? Or do you have to request that?

I should not be planning this far out over our trip in November because I can't seem to make up my mind! I was going to book YC but it's sold out the dates we are going. So then I was torn between 4 or 5 hotels and now I'm leaning towards BC CL water view. But then part of me thinks we should splurge and do the GF CL. Assuming they offer a Fall discount and it's similar to the Spring discount, GF is 30% off room only and BC is 20%. It would make the cost difference between a BC CL water view and the GF deluxe king $864 for the 6 nights we are there. So a little chunk of change for sure but not crazy ridiculous difference?!? I guess we have to decide what kind of "vibe" we want this trip!!! Wish me luck!

We've had our October trip booked for a few months now. If you want a Deluxe Room at GF (ours is two Queen beds in the fall because the kids are going), it's best to book it early and then have them apply the discount later. You can always cancel if the discount isn't good enough or you change your mind about resorts. I'm not really sure exactly what type of rooms are on the second floor of the main building, but you would NOT want to be there! I would specify 3rd, 4th, or 5th floor Deluxe King room. Those are the turret rooms. That's weird that GF had more discount offered than BC this spring. We are staying at BC the first week of June because we got a much better discount at BC... Plus I love the pool and it's nice to mix things up a bit... Even though GF is my favorite! I LOVE the band!

Wow
I will agree with Dispro, in the last few years they are very hard to book. So booking ahead is a must. Also, here is the info about the king RPC rooms they are all not like the turret room and are by request only. The occupancy has changed to 3 since the refurb added daybeds or pull outs to these. We have had 4330 and 4430, I did not like 4330 because it had smaller half windows in some unlike the other room if I remember correctly.

#1A. King Deluxe room: there are 9 rooms located on the 2nd floor of the main building. They all come with king beds, whirlpool tubs, a small sitting area and a balcony that overlooks the castle. They are all the same size as a standard room. (room #4201-4209) (maximum occupancy is 2)

#1B. King Deluxe room: there are 6 rooms located on either end of floors 3, 4 and 5 of the main building. They all come with king beds, regular tubs, larger sitting area and turret style windows that offer a panoramic view of the resort. None of these rooms have a balcony, but they are much larger. (room #4321, 4421, 4021 & I think #4330, 4430, 4030) (maximum occupancy is 2) Here is the room layout for the King deluxe options:

Wow, baler31! I hadn't seen your post when I started to reply to the turret question, but you nailed it! I thought there were deluxe king rooms on the second floor, but I don't even know why those are even considered main building since you have to use that back elevator to get anywhere! I should have mentioned that room numbers 4321, 4421, and 4021 (which are 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors in that order) are all MK view with the panoramic view stretching all the way around to the Poly and the GF villas (and the beach pool). These rooms don't have balconies, but I should have mentioned that there is a huge balcony on the third floor that is for all club level guests. I have been fortunate enough to stay in 4421 twice and 4021 once. The fifth floor is super quiet and has the best view, but the fourth floor still has a great view and is more convenient to the lounge.

I agree completely. The last time we stayed at the YC we were not staying CL (they were sold out) and she spotted us in the lobby one afternoon and practically ran over to say Hi! When the CL CMs recognize you away from the 5th floor, you have obviously spent way too many nights staying CL !! :rolleyes1

I totally agree, that's what keeps bringing us back. :cloud9:

This is awesome - thanks so much for the info and floor plans!!! I love the idea of a balcony but not on the second floor if I could get a bigger room higher up with a more panoramic view. It's just my DH and me so we don't need a ton of room so the layout of the rooms on the second floor would be fine but I think I would prefer higher up. Are both of these categories included in the price listed for the Deluxe King CL listed on the website? I notice the bottom says "Honeymoon Concierge"?

Wow

Thanks for the additional information. It sounds like 4421 and 4021 would be the best request, with 4421 being on the same floor as the CL so it has a little bit of an advantage. I've never requested a specific room but it sounds like I couldn't go wrong with any of these room categories. I guess now I have to decide "if" the Fall discount is similar to the current discount (30% for GF versus 20% BC) if the $800 extra is worth it for our 6 nights. It's my birthday and a gift to myself to reach my goal of losing 100 pounds this year!!! I told my DH if I'm not on track to hitting the 100 pounds lost then by the 45 day out mark we'll have to cancel so I guess this would be a huge incentive![/QUOTE]

I thought it was odd that BC was 20% and GF was 30% but I guess with the remodel perhaps they have less vacancies at BC that they need to fill? I'm torn between these two hotels now! Both seem awesome!

If you book King deluxe main building you could receive either of the styles. You can put in a request but of course it is not guaranteed. FWIW I think more people request the other style because it has MK view and the balcony/whirlpool. We always want more space and the walk in closet.

Thanks again for answering all my questions!! Decisions Decisions! It sounds like you've stayed in both style rooms - does a second floor balcony provide that great a view? I feel like it'd be obstructed by trees or other buildings?

I have only stayed in the turret rooms. We requested those both times and received them. To me the TPV from any of the GF rooms are not very good, JMO. I like TPV at CR and that is about it, Poly is okay for us but I like the up close park view CR gives you. If you are unable to book the king deluxe you can book a standard and request a king bed. They do actually have (at least 2 I think) odd triangle rooms that have a king bed, but again it would be a request.

You could also book the queen deluxe, it has a balcony and is our favorite (affordable) room category at GF.

We stayed in a deluxe king room last Sept, and after A LOT of internal debate requested and got a second floor room with a theme park view (4207). My DH is all about a fireworks view, and I really wanted a balcony. So we gave up the extra room for the balcony and view. We don't care about more room, but it would be very nice if you could have it all- bigger room, balcony, and view! Anyway, we loved the view and watching Wishes from the room, and had no problem with room size, but did agree it was less convenient having to take the back elevator to get to the lounge and 2 elevators from the monorail. It was very convenient to Gasparillas and getting out to the pools without having to go through the lobby in bathing suits. After the trip I think we were in agreement that we were happy with out decision and would make the same request again, despite the extra elevator ride. The elevator wasn't used much, so there was usually almost no wait. Out view had no obstructions and I found being lower was no drawback, the GF MK view is closer than What we are used to at the Poly but from an angle instead of straight on. There have been pics posted recently either here or on the GF thread. One thing I just don't understand is why they don't have the music for wishes either on the tv or played around Gasparillas. It makes no sense, people gather to watch it there every night. They have it at the Polyn and CR. We bought the soundtrack and tried to match it up the best we could.

I quoted the wrong post! Oh well, hopefully everyone reads them all.

I'll have to go look for pics! I'd love to see the balcony and view before booking. I've been through a lot of the pages on this threw but not all yet. I'll get online tonight and do some searching.

I didn't see a queen deluxe on the website as a room category. Would I ask when I call or is it the same rate as standard club and I would request a balcony TPV?

You cannot book the queen deluxe online. Call and ask for the room category and if the agent cannot find it ask for category BO. There are only 6 of these so they are harder to book than the kings and I assume that is why you have to call. The IPO used to send out floor plans when they asked for requests and stocked your fridge (this service is long gone). Here is the info from the boards and the floor plans for the queen deluxe. 4320 is our favorite.

#2. Standard Deluxe room: There are 6 rooms in total. They all come with 2 queen beds and a little sitting area with a couch and chairs. They all offer either a view of the pool/courtyard or the beach. All have balconies. There are 4 designs which are shaped like a big square and 2 which are more in the shape of a triangle. (room numbers, Option 1 design: 4319, 4419, 4320, 4420 Option 2 design: 4322, 4422)(maximum occupancy is 4) Here is the room layout for the standard deluxe options:

@TigrLvsPooh I just read one of your trip reports from years back where you stayed at AKL CL and they put you in a non-CL... someone asked you why they did that and you said you believed that the average person wouldn't know the difference... Ok this scares the crap out of me... being a CL newbie here that would be very easy to pull the wool over my eyes and probably make me rethink trying CL ever again.

Please do educate, how do you tell the difference?!

Now you are testing my memory! ;) There really isn't a difference at AKL CL because you have CL and non-CL rooms on the same floor and intermixed with each other. I would guess they can interchange them fairly easily by adding a few extra CL amenities to the room... as long as the designated mousekeeper has them marked correctly on her cleaning schedule (for turn down). From what I remember there weren't any robes in the closet, there was no lighted makeup mirror in the bathroom, uhhhhh, I don't think we had all the expected toiletry options, I can't really recall what else, but I think I listed a few things in that report I noticed were off. Really the rooms are the same.

I totally agree with you on the Wishes music!! You would think they would have it playing on the third floor balcony to RPC lounge at least! It's very frustrating! Thanks for the info on the second floor rooms. We do use the back elevator to go to Gasparilla, etc. and it doesn't take too long.

Congrats on the weight loss! I hope you continue to make success toward your goal and get to take your trip! I have never had a bad Disney trip, so don't feel too pressured by your decision. My husband and I were just at GF RPC for our anniversary last month, and we had a great time hanging out in the lounge and requesting songs to be played by the band and pianist. We really didn't spend much time in the parks (but it was cold). Staying at BC with its awesome pool and proximity to Epcot is great too (especially when it's warm). Good luck with your decision!

Thanks so much! I'll weigh Monday and I'm hoping to be down 37 pounds (woo-hoo)!!! So far I'm on track for hitting my goals in November!

Also, I appreciate the reminder not to stress too much because I think you are 100% correct that we will have a great time at either resort. In fact, one of my favorite trips was the one I stressed about least so I need to just pick one and relax (after planning ADRs 180 days out of course haha).

No Joke! The ADRs are stressful! If you miss the 180 mark, you may not get a few of the ones you want... And don't forget about making FP+ reservations for mine train... Ugh! But you will have fun no matter what, I'm sure.
