expiration of AP questions

Im getting all sorts of answers about our AP expiration dates--including from a CM when I called disney

ok heres the deal--we have AP that according to MDE expire while we are at disney in JAn mine expires 1-30-20 while DH is 2-1-I went to the MK the day we got there last year on 1-29 on the 30 we didnt go a park at all--

so now Im in the process of making FP for our up coming trip 1-29 to 2-2--I have FP for both of us up to and including 1-31

when I try to do FP I get the message that "some of your guests are not yet eleigible for FP selections"
so Im figuring it me since my ticket has expired on 1-31-20 since I already have confirmed FP for that day

when I remove myself and just book a FP for my DH on 2-2 it goes through no problem

the CM first that if we werent eligible for the FP I would get an email saying so

so I did a FP for DH on 2-2 went all the way through confirmed--never got an email saying I couldnt do it

so I am just so confused on all of this--I would just buy a few days worth of tickets just to finish up the vacation but would hate to spend the money if the passes are still good--I would wait till we get there the end of Jan but I would like those last few days with FP made before we leave home

why would it let me make FP if I dont have a tickets--I was told it was a glitch in the system--its been this way since I was able to do FP

Even if you have a FP, you will not have a park entry as your AP will have expired.

Ticket eligibility is verified at booking the FP, I have never seen an error with this. It seems to me based on what you described your AP actually expires (good for entry) on 1/31/2020. Your Husbands is good for entry up to and on 2/2/2020. So without a new ticket or renewing your AP you can't make any FP for yourself post 1/31/2020 and for him post 2/2/2020. What is the exact phrasing in MDE? It should say "Valid Through: xx/xx/xxx" that date is the last day you can enter the park with the AP.

I would call the AP help line and specifically ask the last day of entry on your AP they can answer that. Any days that are past your last day of entry you shouldn't be able to make a FP selection for and would require a new park ticket to make FP for those days.

so I remove me from party a message says youre almost done tap continue --so at this point its just my DH name thats listed after continue Im free to select FP and can all the way through to confirm which when I hit confirm it then shows up in our plans

the CM I talked to the other day said if the FP wont go through Ill get an email saying so--never got an email so the FP is still listed for 2-2-20 at MK

Your AP doesn't expire until January 31, 2020. So, you can make reservations for yourself & your husband up to and including that date. If you try any later dates (and include yourself in the reservation), it won't let you because your AP isn't good after January 31, 2020. Which, in itself is weird, since you indicated you first went into a park on January 29, 2019....

Did you have an AP when you first entered the parks in January 2019? If not, and you upgraded tickets to APs, perhaps the CM and/or computer that did the upgrade didn't backdate it to the first date of entry into the park so consider yourself pixie dusted.

Your husband's AP expires a few days after yours, which means only he can have FPs after January 31st.

I just hope we have park access on the 31 for me and 2-1 for DH

Hmm, I have yet to see the MDE allow making FPs without a valid entry ticket. Do you, by chance, have a 1-day pass lying around in MDE?

starry thats what I find so weird is that I can make FP on the 31 yet for myself--and 2-1 for hubby--I really dont want to get to the gate only to find out we dont have tickets

also we never got a renewal notice about our passes--I didnt even think to check on dates until we were able to do FP

and its so weird that the system knows that my pass expires a few days before DH since I went to a park before he did--so that part it has right

basically what it looks like is somehow I have a few extra days strange

It sounds like you are being able to book a FP for the day after your AP expires,,,why,,,I don’t know, For you, that’s 1/31 and for your DH is 2/2.

However, I would take the date the pass expires as the last day you will be able to enter the park, regardless of the FP situation.

If you want to make FPs for dates beyond what you can now, and don’t want to renew your pass, then buy a 2 or 3 day ticket to use to get the FPs.

Once you get there, check the actual end date with guest relations. If, for some reason what you have will cover the trip, those passes you bought can be saved for another time or used to buy your next AP..they can’t be applied to renewal Price.
