Need some expert advice here. Our trip is in Sept. it will be my mother and I (both with mobility issues) and a 14 year old that has never travelled anywhere and has never eaten in a restaurant other than McDonald's.

The free dining package has allowed us to share the magic with this girl and I would like expert opinions on the restaurants I figure I will try to book...

So far :

For the first night- Chef Mickey's or 1900 park fare? I am also considering Califonia Grill so she can see wishes on her first night.

This girl hasn't shown any preference to characters really so I don't know what to book

Hollywood and vine for Fantasmic?

Crystal Palace

Coral Reef- This girl is like a fish and I know will be blown away by the aquarium

Le Cellier- Already booked ----- yippppeeeee :teeth:

Whispering Canyons - lol

Liberty Tree tavern

Garden Grill

Sci fi---- my mom wantes sci fi for the atmosphere I think I would rather go with Prime time and just get a shake at sci fi so we can see it breifly. What do you guys think?

Chef's de france or Rose and crown? Or is there a great one I am overlooking?

Tony's

Any advice welcome, if you have any suggestions please comment. I want this vacation to really open up her eyes to new possibilities! Please use your expertise to help us best share the magic! :thumbsup2

Hi Figment - I am absolutely NO expert and there are others here who will jump in and comment more thoroughly than I.. but overall, I think your dining looks great and I am so impressed by your efforts on behalf of this 14 y/o - especially since you and Mom have mobility issues!!!!:thumbsup2

I can tell you that Chef Mickey's was our first stop on our first trip and my kids were blown away!!! Between the character interaction and the dessert bar and just being in the CR and seeing the monorail, they were awestruck! But.. I also hear that Park Fare is great.

Also - my thought is that if she's never even been in a "real" restaurant, CM's is a good start!

Other than that, I would also agree w/ you about PTC over Sci-Fi - but at 14, I'd choose Sci-Fi, PTC for older folks - the kids just don't "get" the 50's thing sometimes..:rotfl2:

We just booked Chefs de France for our fall trip w/ FDP - we have enjoyed lunch there with street performers right outside our window and it was terrific! But.. there's great views I hear from R&C, too....

Have fun planning! What a wonderful trip!!!

Think CM is a great first choice, CG might be too "gormet" if the 14yo is new to dining out, lots of choices here. Agree also about Sci-fi over PT, sure to like the burgers and shakes and it's such a fun place. Think over all the buffets would give you all something that you will enjoy, and the TS will give a great chance to a new dining experience!

(Yes, i consider myself an expert in all things food related :)

Thanks for your responses- I will give in and try for sci fi- Any opinions on Hollywood and vine? I'm not sure if Mama Melroses would be a better pick?

All I do know is that I LOVE FREE DINING PLAN!
