Experiences with park purchases sent to resort

Hi. I know guests can have purchases made at Disney sent to their resort for free. I just had a couple of questions:
1. Does the merchandise arrive the same day or the following day?

2. What have been your experiences with this service? Did everything arrive to your resort as expected?

Thanks!

They arrive the next day. The only problem I've ever had was that we tend to leave in the morning before the gift shop opens and get back at night after it closes so sometimes it takes me a couple of days to actually pick up my purchase at the resort.

Typically arrives at your resort's store the next afternoon. I forget how it worked when we stayed at a Club level room at the Poly (things might have been delivered to our room?).
If you're checking out the next day you can no longer have things delivered to the resort.

I use this service a lot. I've had no issues. I've had everything sent from pins, shirts, even the ghost portraits from the Haunted Mansion store that I didn't feel like carrying around. You can also have purchases sent to the front of the park for you to pick up on your way out. I believe for this you need to have it sent before 5PM.

1. The purchases arrive the next day - they give you a paper when you buy something that you fill out and it will tell you when your purchase will be available at your resort gift shop.
2. The service is great - everything arrives in a Disney bag just like you carried it out of the store. Never had any problems.

Be aware, I wouldn't use the service the day before you are leaving. It might not make it to the gift shop before you have to leave.

It arrives the next day. I had no problems with it at all. It was super easy. We had a message in our room that we could pick up our package at the gift shop. It took all of a minute to claim the very well wrapped items (HM picture frames in my case). They made it all the way home in that wrapping with no issue (and my cat LOVES the eco-friendly netted paper wrapping they use). It works great.

One thing, you cannot have anything sent this way if tomorrow is your checkout day.

I did it a couple times last year. I admit to being a tad nervous about it, but it was fine.

It does not get there the same day. Mine got there the next day. So do not do it the day before you leave. I know the CM asked me a couple of times to ensure it wasn't my last day there.

The stores/delivery won't allow you to ship to the resort if you don't have enough days left in your trip.

I've used the service for years. Used to, they would bring the bags to your room and leave them, now you are required to pick them up at the gift shop during gift shop hours. They typically arrive the afternoon after your purchase; however, if you purchase at night they might not arrive until the 2nd day after your purchase. They will ask your departure date in the store, and will not let you do it if the package is not going to make it to you before check out. I have never had any issue not receiving a package, it always has worked great. You will have a sheet/receipt reflecting the items are coming and they note if you pick it up, so I'm sure if it did not show up and the items were still available in the store that the resort would call and they would easily replace the items for you, but we have never had that happen- the items always show up. The only issue is if you are not at the resort at all during gift shop hours. I have also had it where we were not at the resort the next day during gift shop hours, so I waited a day to pick it up and that was fine. If you are staying club level, then they do still deliver it to your room- we stayed club level on our trip a couple of weeks ago, and it was really nice having it revert to them leaving the bags in our room instead of having to go to the gift shop to pick it up.

I loved this service and we used it every single day (ETA: Except the day before checkout. That day we just had them held at the gate. We'd also gotten a locker for other souvenirs since we'd park-hopped that day.) We also shipped some bulky Star Wars gifts to our home directly from the gift shop. We were happy with all of it!

Another option is to have things sent to the front of the park. It takes about two hours but is super helpful. And great for kids, because we all know they are going to want to play with the new toys that night in the hotel. I used to work Merch at DHS so if you have any questions about these services let me know.

I've used this service a lot. It's especially useful if you want to buy anything breakable. The only problem is what others have said - that we often don't arrive back at our resort until after the store is closed, so we have to make time one morning to go pick up our (by then, numerous) packages.

Never any issues, have enjoyed this service for years, without any problems! Of note, you can not have any food items delivered.

- YES we use it and they've never lost anything. Great service.
- Hopefully arrive the next day and they leave a message in your room that it is there.
- Based on messages I would say sometimes they arrive much later the next day.
- They always ask your checkout day to make sure they have time but for me I build an extra day in to that just to be sure.
- Make sure you are back early enough in the evening to pick up or delay your morning to grab and drop at your room ... if you are not mid day resort people.
- We do use front of the park for package pickup and it works great .... just don't forget to pick it up!

During my weeklong stay I had stuff sent to the gift shop every day, then on my checkout day I went down to claim it all and had it shipped to my home. This was a good deal because shipping costs scale by price, not weight or volume, so having it all shipped at once saved a good deal over shipping individually. It took about two weeks to arrive to my house, but I had about $1k of stuff shipped for cheap. I think it was maybe $40 to ship.

Of note, you can not have any food items delivered.

Yes, this. Found out the hard way when I bought a popcorn tin at Downtown Disney and had to lug it around all day with me because they wouldn't let me ship it to the resort even if I dumped out the popcorn.

Other than that, this service is wonderful-never had even a tiny problem.

I love this service. I've been able to ship heavy or fragile items back to the resort without having to worry about them during the day.

During busy times (Star Wars Weekends) I was told that it could take up to 2 days to arrive at the resort because they had SO MANY to deliver. But it's still arrived the next day.

I did once have something not arrive before at the resort before I had to leave (it was many years ago and I think they used to say 24 hours before checkout was the limit and I was pretty much 24 hours and 30 minutes, so it was a gamble anyway) and they sent it to my house.

You can for a fee also have things sent to your home. If you live in another state you don't pay FL sales tax so that helps pay part of the shipping expense. The charge is based on price of your purchase.

We use this service all the time; we absolutely love it! Never had an issue with it. Our purchases were usually ready for pick up at our resorts store the next day, or the day after that depending on what time in the day we purchased the items. The CMs always asked us when our check out date was to make sure we would receive our items before our last day!

Of note, you can not have any food items delivered.

Good info to note.

I've also heard many saying that when they bought wine at Epcot they were told (1) can not be shipped to resorts (2) must be picked up at package pickup. There were a few saying they were able to carry through park but many said they were not - which makes sense.
