I have been home for over a week, flat on my back with two herniated discs. The pain has been excrutiating - down my leg, horrific behind my knee and down into my foot.
My doctor needs an updated MRI - because the pain from this episode is much more severe than the last time. Problem is - the last time - I did an MRI lying down - it was absolutely excrutiating to lie flat on my back. My doctor is asking my insurance company for approval to do a standing MRI - of course, standing is also excrutiating - but not nearly as bad as flat on the back on a hard surface.
Has anyone had a standing MRI? Do they take breaks in between so I can move a bit? Did you have something to lean on while they are doing the scan?
I'm hoping to get the shots in my back before I head down to Disney - and wiating for the approval for the standing is taking forever - I'll suffer through the other one if it means I can move this process along a bit faster...especially if the standing MRI isn't going to be that much of a difference in pain.
Thanks for any experiences you can offer.
