Experiences flying out of Atlantic City to MCO??: please share...

I used ACY last fall and loved everything about this airport. The parking is great, and the staff was much nicer then in a major airport. The only thing is that there is only 1 ATM and it is before the security checkpoint, so if you need cash get it before you get in line to go upstairs.

I have also stayed at the Econo lodge, Quiet room and great bathroom. Just what I was looking for without paying too much.

I've flown out of AC on Spirit, and now can't stand dealing with PHL or othe major airports. It's very convenient for me, as I live 25 mins. away, and you don't sit in a line waiting to take off behind 15 other planes. Cheap parking, no traffic hassles, and cheap flights on Spirit. I'm using it again in Oct. to Orlando. So hassle free, you're vacation starts there. You won't be disappointed.

We are considering Spirit out of AC this trip (in May) but right now the prices are as high as flying out of Newark. The thing I hate about Spirit is there are only 2 flights out and 2 flights in, one is real early the other later in the day than I'd like. We will have to shoot for the 7am which means leaving my house at 5am with 2 little ones and coming back home about 9pm. I'd sacrifice no problem if the price is good enough but right now they are HIGH!!

My parents flew to Myrtle Beach from AC and loved it. My mom said the flight was uneventful and the airport felt "safe". She left her car there (think it cost $18 for the 4 or 5 days they were there) and she said she wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

...about our experiences flying in/out of AC. Well, in a nutshell, it was WONDERFUL!! We arrived at AC a little over two hours ahead of the scheduled departure time. It took us about 15 minutes to get the stuff out of the car, get our boarding passes and stickers for the checked-in luggage, bring it [the luggage] to be inspected and tagged, and sit and wait for TWO HOURS!!! Had I known it was THAT EASY, we'd have left No. NJ a litle later... :confused3 Oh well, live and learn! It was NOTHING compared to departing from MCO!!! (we felt like we were back on one of those Disney lines for ToT!!)

If the fare is as good as our recent flight, I would definitely use Spirit Air again! (the only downside to Spirit was that there was no movie, so if you didn't have reading material or something else to occupy you, it was kinda boring!)

Hi,

Just thought I would add that if you are in the mood for something to eat or drink, we found much better choices upstairs after having gone thru security.
Other than that, must agree with the other posters who have had good experiences at this neat little airport. We have used it three times flying Spirit.

Kimmar067,

Glad to hear your trip went well. We would use AC over Newark any time!
