Hello everyone!

I have commited myself to doing the Princess Half in 2012! This is my first time in the running world. If you are interested, please follow my blog about training!

I have read several times here that experienced runners suggest we do a smaller race to get the fell of it before the half. Would you recommmend the Halloween 5k? We will be going down in October with the in-laws, so it might easily fit into our plans!

Thanks!

popcorn:: Hey, me too, thanks for posting! I definitely want to do the Halloween 5K and then a HM @ Disney in 2012. I am a brand new runner so figured doing a local 5K and then a Disney 5K would help ease my race jitters... just curious if we can actually run it or if it will be very congested?

I'd do a local 5K first as opposed to the Disney. The Disney 5ks are fun runs and not really races so you won't get the full race experience.

Sounds like we have a similar plan! :thumbsup2

I'm going to do my first 5K this summer at home and then do the Halloween 5K this fall. That way I get a little Disney running experience before the Princess 1/2 in 2012!!! :cool1:

Good Luck! The Disney 5ks are fun but you do not get an official time as they are family runs. I totally agree to do a 5k at home and then do Disney, as the fitness expo can't be beat and it is a fun experience. I am subscribing to your blog. I am training for the 2012 Disney marathon. I hope it is ok if I put my blog on here as well. Good luck in your training.

Please let me know if you are doing the Halloween 5k for sure when sign ups open! I would love a running buddy. I totally agree, a Disney running experience will be a great intro for the Princess half! I am so excited. It is such good motivation for me to get in shape.

I'll be doing the Halloween 5k! My room is booked...just waiting for registration to open!
