Expedition Orlando! - actual update! Nov 22nd

Another great update!:cool1:
So sorry about the house. :sad1: We had the same problem when we where buying a house....only ours needed work in the crawl space and a new roof inside and out! :scared1: Then we found a better one, in a better neighborhood.:) There is a house out there for you!!

I doused myself in the yellow substance, which smelled like peaches. Mother is intrigued by the red bottle, fails to turn the nozzle properly, and accidentally soaks me in that scent too. I smell pretty! Stephen is amused.

I love this part, it made me smile. Sorry about the house.

Sorry about the house. Better to have found out early that it needed such work!

How much is the cover to get into Jellyrolls?

I just moved you over to our regular boards.

I just came home yesterday.

We drove past the hotel you stayed at everyday.

We were down the road at another high rise hotel like yours.
I'm to embarassed to say the name, because we are definately
not "Ritz" people. LOL.

Yeah! The trip report is started! And off to a great start I'd say! Very funny tone!

Sorry about the house! Don't worry though, you'll find one that you will like even better! Everything happens for a reason!

What a shame about the house, but at least you had the bad news before you bought!
Jellyrolls sounds like fun - shame you wasted your $5!!!!!!!!! It obviously wasn't that kind of requests!!! :lmao:

I am so behind - granted in addition to aggressively continuing my house hunt and working 'round the clock, I've also been super sick. Hooray for allergy season! I hope to get an update in tonight :surfweb:

That's true! We'll keep looking. Hopefully something will come along. I LOVE Jellyrolls, I recommend it to everyone!

Thanks! I hope you are right!

Aw, you saw my beloved Rosen Centre! I miss it so. Welcome back! And thanks for the move.

Thanks :) I think the cover is $10 per person. Pretty much the cost of a movie and way more entertaining!

Thanks :) We'll find something eventually....we'll "just keep swimming, just keep swimming"

Thanks for the encouragement! I'm glad it worked out for you. Gives me hope

I'm sorry to hear about the house. Trust me though, you will eventually find the house that is meant for you. It may take a little longer but it will come along. :goodvibes

I really enjoyed your update. I have never gone to Jellyrolls but it sounds like it is a lot of fun. I can't wait to read more about your trip.

Thanks! Jellyrolls is so much fun. If you can get away with an adults-only evening, it's definitely worth checking out.

So sorry that the house didn't work out, just means that there is something better out there for you!
Loved your description of Jellyrolls. :rotfl:

Hopefully you're right! Thanks Lessa!

I adore your travel journal, it's so much fun to read!

I am so sorry about the house but it will be worth it in the long run. I am sure you will find something soon.

Thanks LL - I need to catch up on your PTR too. I need my LL's pics of the day!!

:rotfl: love the description of JellyRolls!

Sorry about the house, but atleast you found out before it was too late.

True! We definitely would have been in trouble otherwise :scared1:

Sorry to hear about the house. I'm sure something is out there for you!
I have not see the Belle Vue Room. Where is that?
Don't you just love those Boardwalk entertainers? They're certainly unique!

The Belle Vue is in the Boardwalk. If you are standing in the little courtyard and looking out at the water, it is up the stairs to your left. It was such a neat little find!

I loved this line!! :rotfl:

Kathy

P.S. Sorry the house didn't pass inspection.... well at least you found out now.

Thank you! :teeth:

I think you must've had Strawberry Lychee Margarita Goggles on - I have never ever seen any kind of performer on the BoardWalk when we've visited.... :sad1:

None? Ever?? Gasp! Now you have another reason to go back there. Find loveable Craig!

Argh! I'm so sorry! But better to find that stuff out before you are the owner! I firmly believe house-hunting is like dating and you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince. Hang in there. The right house is out there! :)

Great update! I have yet to try Jelly Rolls.

That's what I love about WDW, there are always new things to try. I had never even checked out Jellyrolls until my last trip in 2008 and now it's one of my favorite places. And thanks for the enocouragement about the house!

This morning’s plan was to arise at 7:30 for an invigorating bout of exercise. Instead, I elected to sleep until 9, when I opened my eyes to be greeted by a white mocha latte and pineapple pound cake. Hooray for Mother! I chomped on my treats while Mother finished some work, and after much dallying we were off to a mystical kingdom ruled by animals.

We boarded the noisy parking lot tram, where I received a call from my supervisor, who scolded me for answering. I screamed “What? WHAT?” at him over the din, and never quite figured out what he was calling me about. Probably to see how my expedition was going!

Into the ticket line we went, when a woman approached us. Upon learning that Mother did not have a park ticket, she led us secretly to a secret entrance with a secret turnstile. We learned that this mysterious woman was a Disney employee with a spare park hopper for the day! Hooray for free entry!

We had been given a special pass upon parking that entitled us to a free pin. I proudly presented my pass to a cast member at Island Mercantile, expecting to receive some sort of diamond-encrusted gold-plated bauble. Instead she tossed a hideous pink Tinkerbell watch pin in my direction, which immediately went into Mother’s bag. We were famished and began our search for nourishment in this strange land.

We made our way to Asia, where lunch consisted of an exotic shrimp lo mein for Mother, and an ordinary cheeseburger with carrots & gelatin for me. After lunch we began the long trek to Africa. Mother, the ferverent birdwatcher, insists that we stop every few feet to photograph all the exotic birds that cross our path.

Along the way I pause to lean against a tree, tired from chasing Boogle-Berried Storks and Pilates Parrots around with Mother. The tree pulled sharply away, and I looked up to see that it had the most beautiful face! I had discovered a human-tree hybrid! I managed to get several snapshots of the magical creature before she strolled away into the forest.

Eventually we made our way to Africa to explore the fabled Pagani Trail. I was most comfortable in the critter room, amongst such delights at the pancake tortoise and the Madagascar hissing cockroach.

I was eager to bring a specimen of the latter home, but could not get the lock off the cage, unfortunately.

Mother had run ahead to the aviary, where we spotted such treats as a Blue-Breasted Kingfisher and Taveta Golden Weaver.

Mother was ecstatic.

I was determined to hunt down the Bearded Barbet for a picture – partially because it had an amusing name, and partially because it supposedly looks like this:

I spotted a nametagged adventurer who I was sure could help us locate this hilarious bird, and he gave us helpful suggestions such as “I don’t know” and “I’ve never seen that bird before.” Mildly dissatisfied, we shouldered on.

Just ahead, we embark on a two week safari! And drink mystical tonics that glow in the dark!

I'm jealous that you stumbled across DiVine so easily... I've yet to encounter her on our many trips to AK. And I'm glad that Mom was able to channel her inner bird-watcher!

The exotic glowing tonics sound yummy!

And that served your superviser right for calling you while on vacation! :snooty:

Kathy

I'm really hoping to see DeVine this trip! It has always been too rainy for her to be out on our previous trips.

I've never seen Devine...and while i would like to, i hope we don't see her on this trip. I think the kids would be totally freaked out! :lmao:

She's so amazing - and very cleverly disguised, I was looking right at her for a few moments before I realized it was her.

Devine looks so pretty! I really hope to see her.

I feel like I really lucked out with my pictures. She walked right by me and I was able to get a ton of shots!

Mmmm.... pancake tortoise....

:rotfl:

I know you like cake, but I think that's taking it a bit far ;)

I hope you see her! Keep your eye out - she's easy to miss :magnify:

Kathy

He learned his lesson and never called me again  And I could definitely go for a glowing tonic right now!

For the longest time my DFi thought I was telling him stories about DeVine and that she didn't exist. Thankfully we caught her on our last trip. Your pictures of her are great! :goodvibes

Great update! You and your mom must have had a blast! How cool get get in free with the secret employee entrance! And to see Divine! How lucky! Can't wait for more!

Good luck with your house hunting! You'll find the perfect house! We put in 10 offers prolly over a year and now we are at a house we just love. We were in the mind set of we are not overpaying so we walked away from alot of houses. I am so glad we did as I just love our home and could not imagine being anywhere else!

I am so enjoying your travel journal! How cool is free entry at AK? That is awesome. I've never seen DeVine either -- your pictures of her are great!!

Mystical beverages that glow in the dark? How intriguing. Tell me more... popcorn::

Just checked out the first couple of pages...love how you started it so far! So cute. I'm subbing so I can come back and read more! :goodvibes

:lmao: This is pretty much what happens with me, too... I always have the best intentions to exercise at WDW, but it seldom (okay, never) happens. ;)

What about the Naked Mole Rats?! Worth the price of admission, alone.
