Anybody got the scoop when AKL coaster opens? We are going mid-feb and would love to catch this new ride!

Nothing has been officially announced, but it appears as if it will be opening in the middle of April 2006. If this is so, then soft openings could begin during your vacation, but there is no way to know for sure.

I just wished that they would start this December, oh well there is always next time.

Rumor has it that it will open in May or June of 2006 and soft openings in January or February.

thanks folks. What are soft openings? How do you get to increase your chances of getting on?

Last month's Disney Insider said that it was opening in April 2006, probably to coinside with both DAK's anniversary and Earth Day. Annual Passholder's typically get an invite to go to the parks for the soft openings, which is an early trial period, but the CMs generally let everyone else on as well. The rides don't run all day during soft openings, just enough to see how the systems run real time. If you keep checking in, I'm sure some AP Holder will post when they begin.

We are proabably going to disnesy 2 times in one year Feb 2006 and Jan 2007, so maybe the Ap would be better than the new 10 day MYW tix no exp, huh? Is this the place to ask what the pther perks of AP are- other than going on new rides that aren't yet open? thanks

Big time Disney resort discounts off of rack rates, discounts on Disney merchandise, special offers on Disney memorabilia, and 10-20% off most Disney restaurants and resort activities to name a few. If you do a little more research about APs, you'll see that they have alot more to offer than annual park admission and just might work out better for you. I know they do for us!!

I hope that rumor is true! We're going in the first week of Feb. I'm going to be so happy if we can ride EE then! I'm so excited for it to open!!
