Expedition Everest???

My dh asked me to find out more info about Expedition Everest. I know there is probably a ton of information here, but I can't seem to find basic info. He wants to know that the ride is like- his most specific question is how does it compare to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad?

It really doesn't have much in common with Big Thunder Mountain, except that both are themed steel coasters without inversions. Everest is MUCH faster and smoother, and has more modern effects.

Everest also goes both forwards and backwards. We rode it last month and really enjoyed it! You will have a great time.

Is the drop worse than Splash Mountain's drop??? I'm not a rollercoaster fan, but I can handle SM. So before I attempt EE I'd like to know. Thanks!!

backwards and forwards?? Is it like the coaster at disneyland ca. adventure where you can choose to go forwards or backwards, or does it just do it? I really really want to ride it but I can't handle riding backwards, I'll get sick... are you going backwards for a long time?

You go forward, stop, go backward, stop and then go forward again. As for how long the backwards portion is, I am not sure. Maybe 30 seconds or so?

According to my husband ( I dont do coasters), Everest is way better than Thunder Moutain....meaning faster and wilder. I dont think it compares to Splash either.....Splash only has one big drop.....Everest has a big drop and lots of other things too....plus it goes backwards.

got there at 3 on our first day (we landed at 1) lines were 60 min. wait and all fp gone,
went back thurs at opening, I don't know how all those people got in front of me...but it was a 20 min wait. I grabbed a fp, it was for 11 am, and got in the reg. line. I was alone, but talked to the people around me, the time went fast, the things they have to look at while in line were great.

Loved it!!!! best coaster at disney!!

got off, drank a coke, got back on at fast pass time.
second time, got off and was very queasy, sweaty and felt like ****. I am not prone to motion sickness, but I think going on the second time was just too much for me. Now, I am 50 years old, so maybe age is catching up with me, and I didn't think the ride was too much .

so, think twice before riding it quickly after the first if you tend to get a little woozy.
