Expedition Everest - Upside Down???

If you go to WDW's podcast site, you can watch a ride-thru video. It doesn't spoil it too much either, but it will give you an idea of what it is like.

When you go backwards, it feels like a tight spiral kind of thing, not really upside down, but sideways (hope that makes sense)!

This was the big question for me too - I HATE going upside down. It was a big relief for me that it does not - it still discombobulates me a bit, but I loved the ride!

Thank you! Glad to hear it doesn't go upside down. I love the drops and the speed, but I'm done for if I go upside down . Can't wait to try it.:woohoo:

Its very easy to tell that the ride will NOT go upside down...

If there is no over-the shoulder brace (like on RnRC), then the car will not be going upside down on the track.

EE has LAP-BARS.

No it is just really fast and goes backwards at some point on the ride.

I'm not keen on rides going backwards because I once went on a ride that made me feel ill doing that. I'm not normally travel sick, but how bad is the backwards bit?

What about the drop ? Is it straight down or at an angle ? Is it like SM or Jurrasic park at IOA ? Do you get a warning before the drop. I can usually handle drops if not too crazy like Dudley Do Right at IOA ( I nearly thought I'd have a heart attack ) but find SM ok. I just need to be braced ! :rotfl2:

Does Everest go upside down? Well, I suppose it depends on how you look at things.

The backwards part wasn't that bad. We didn't have any problems with it and we also generally don't like going backwards on rollercoasters. It is mostly in the dark at the time so you can't see how fast you are going.

Supposedly it's comparable to The Mummy in Universal. I'm not a rollercoaster fan. I hate things that go upside down. Rides usually make me feel sick. But I rode this seven times consecutively and felt fine. I'll be riding Everest and I cannot WAIT :hyper:

When backwards it does go UP (not sideways) a VERY steep incline. You think for a moment that you may go upside down, but you don't. The grade is very steep.
