Does anyone know who i'm talking about?! When we rode EE about amonth ago this guy was in front of us claiming he's rode ride over 200+ times? He even knew all the CM's that worked on the ride! He was a hoot to ride with ... he could even start a cult movement and have everyone chanting "tear it up!" when... well you know ;)

Never seen him, but I myself have ridden it between 80 and 100 times.A lot of single line rides.

We will be there in september. I will look for him, sounds interesting.

He certainly beat me -- I rode 43 times the first two days of the Sneak Peak in January. Was even given a tour of the 'Tower' (control room of the beast). CM at Standby Entrance was timing me -- 8 minutes full circle!!! Single Rider line every time. Sure pays to fly solo. Not bad for a 45 year old chick visiting from Illinois!

NOT BAD at all :)!!!

Has anyone else been slightly disappointed by Everest? We rode it on our last trip and while I enjoyed the yeti, the rollercoaster portion definately didn't live up to the hype. Maybe I've burned myself out on others by riding RnR too many times?

I smile at your comments because you have succomb to the Disney hype. I love EE. However, I have learned to not build my enthusiasm based on the promotional materials.

I think the ride (EE) is wonderful. I do wish it was a little longer but, hey, it's a great great ride and I dont want to be one of those people that can't be pleased with anything. I love it.

However, if you really want to love Disney attractions (new ones) you have to shut yourself off from the promotional material until you get to experience for yourself.

Disney loves to promote it's attractions as thrilling. I think it's an "exciting" ride but not "thrilling".

I remember when I first took my mom to WDW, she was scared to go on Alien Encounter because the promo video showed an alien hand grabbing the legs of the guests. I was amazed when she told me that and then saw it for myself, since I knew what the attraction was like.

Again, I love it, but Disney's using these rides to try to get people in the parks. I dont think it has so much do to with the ride itself. Once they get you in, you can do whatever you want, in their opinion.

Lastly, you have to realize that Disney uses Computer Generated Images incorporated with actual ride footage to make it more dramatic.

Don't get me wrong, it's a nice coaster and I enjoyed riding it and will ride it again. The 80ft drop is a nice addition since none of the other Disney coasters have that and the backwards bit is something new, but not long enough. I'll enjoy it for what it is - a nicely themed attraction that my wife and daughter will go on (they refuse to ride RnR.)

I think your post about EE ("that my wife and daughter will go on") is the exact reason they make most of their attractions less intense than many parks. Disney is truly a family place.

I think most (not all) attractions are meant to be intense to enjoy but not too much so the entire family can't ride.

However, while their actual attractions seem to be purposely less intense than competitor parks, the advertising seems to be built to show intensity to compete with more intense rides at other competing parks.

Wow 200+?
i couldn't even make riding it twice in a row with my daughter! I haven't even made it past 5 times!

I agree. I think they want to keep their rides where almost anyone will ride them. Sometimes that disappoints thrill seekers, but overall it is something everyone can enjoy. :) I haven't done Everest yet but can't wait. :teeth:

Wow, 200 is a lot!

I remember when I was about 14, and a friend and I wanted to break the local theme park's record for riding one of the rides the most times in a day, but we got bored after about 20 ;)
