Has anyone else been slightly disappointed by Everest? We rode it on our last trip and while I enjoyed the yeti, the rollercoaster portion definately didn't live up to the hype. Maybe I've burned myself out on others by riding RnR too many times?
I smile at your comments because you have succomb to the Disney hype. I love EE. However, I have learned to not build my enthusiasm based on the promotional materials.
I think the ride (EE) is wonderful. I do wish it was a little longer but, hey, it's a great great ride and I dont want to be one of those people that can't be pleased with anything. I love it.
However, if you really want to love Disney attractions (new ones) you have to shut yourself off from the promotional material until you get to experience for yourself.
Disney loves to promote it's attractions as thrilling. I think it's an "exciting" ride but not "thrilling".
I remember when I first took my mom to WDW, she was scared to go on Alien Encounter because the promo video showed an alien hand grabbing the legs of the guests. I was amazed when she told me that and then saw it for myself, since I knew what the attraction was like.
Again, I love it, but Disney's using these rides to try to get people in the parks. I dont think it has so much do to with the ride itself. Once they get you in, you can do whatever you want, in their opinion.
Lastly, you have to realize that Disney uses Computer Generated Images incorporated with actual ride footage to make it more dramatic.
