Anyone know the story on Expedition Everest soft opening?

Are the sneak peek only during weeks / weekends or is it ongoing from now until official opening?

EE is in a soft opening phase now and will remain so until the official opening on April 7.

What this means is: the ride is open a lot of the time. But it is not open all the time. There is no way of knowing if it will be open when you are there, unless you will be there on April 7 or later.

There are no restrictions to riding if it is open, as long as you meet the height and saety requirements, just like any other ride.

Yes, the ride is open for soft openings and anybody can ride it. But it isn't guaranteed to be open on the day you visit. You can check with any CM in the beginning of the park if it's open or not. They should know. If not, check the board before the Tree of Life. It should say there too.

We just returned....EE is AWSOME!! If you are staying on-site, Disney has a sort-of "guide" channel that shows all the park hours, parade times, etc. . .it rotates through the parks, so you don't have to watch for long. It always had a special message when EE was going to be open the next day. Also, the hotel staff left a message on our voicemail one night to tell us that EE would be open the next day if we wanted to ride. We had great luck and rode several times. . . we just waited stand-by early and then fast-passed later. If you are not staying on-site, then you can check the board at the entrance to find out if it was open. The days we were there, it opened at 9 and closed at 2.
