On our last Disney trip our youngest child was too small to ride EE, so we skipped it. No one in our family has ridden EE before and we want to ride it in August 2014 when we are back a Disney. My DW is wondering if any of the drops on EE are backwards or in the dark. Any tips or info from EE riders would be appreciated. THANKS!

It is backwards and in the dark. Technically, it is a helix, not an actual drop, but you get a g force pull. It is a great ride, and very smooth, if that helps!;)

The backward part is DD6's favorite part. She tells everyone about it.

The backwards part is a the most intense section of a relatively tame ride.

Says the UFC fan... Lol

It could be a little scary but coming from someone who was never on a coaster until I was in my 20s it's good for your kid to get out there and get a little scared. That ride doesn't have any crazy up in the air stuff so you feel very safe the whole time I think.

The backwards part pushes you down into your seat (the same feeling you get going around the track on Test Track). So, it's not a drop in the dark.

I'm certainly not a UFC fan.

We were in the same boat a couple years ago. I hadn't been on and although I enjoy rides a bit now - I didn't grow up on them so I'm always a little afraid. DH will go on anything. We knew DD then 7 but a peanut was tall enough so she was going to ride with Daddy. We get up there and DD then 5 and tall just hit the height. So off we went in line. I felt a lot better seeing it was just a lap bar restraint. I am trying to be brave to not scare her. We go up, down backwards in the dark (not actual drop as mentioned above) then forward down hill and then around some curves. As I am wondering how she is doing I hear "THIS IS AWESOME". phew

Honestly the main drop is not intense at all, its curves towards the end its looks much worse than it feels. I have ridden it many times and never even felt the drop to be quite honest. The most "intense" part is the section of the backwards part where you actually drop(if you have ridden it you know the section of the backwards movement I am talking about). I would give it a chance its very fun with superb theming. Also remember to scream, laugh, shout whatever works for you, tensing up is what makes any "thrill ride" worse. If it makes you feel any better its a mine cart coasters so all it can really do is bank turns and drop.

i will give my 2 cents...we have ridden EE dozens of times with everyone from a roller coaster junkie to a roller coaster newbie... The main drop that you see is not as intense as it looks from the outside. It curves so it looks steep but is over in less than 3 seconds. As far as the backwards piece the rear of the cars is the most intense ( as if you feel as if you are going upside down) the middle feels as if you are going straight up and the front just goes along withe the rest but the least intense. Right after the backwards piece you see the 'cartoon' yeti and then you go down the drop. So forget what you know about other coasters.... Least intense is the front.... Most intense rear

That whole comment made me laugh so hard. Why do people always confuse UCF for that awful event?! I'm an alumni - graduated 2010, and when I sometime say "I love UCF" people hear 'UFC' and ask me how I could like such a thing haha. >go knights!<

As previous poster alluded to, the backward helix in the dark often tricks my brain into the sensation that the ride is spinning upside down (which I find enjoyable but some people might not), even though it does NOT go upside down. I've only encountered a few people who have experienced the same sensation, so perhaps it's a rare phenomenon? Only happens to people with "twisted minds" like me? Or maybe as PP stated, it's only if you're seated at the back of the train.

I think the backwards in the dark part feels like you're going upside down as others have said. It's very disorienting. Which isn't a bad thing for me and my DD, we love it. My younger son, not so much.
