My friends just came back from Disney World and were very disappointed because Expedition Everest was still closed. Any ideas when it is opening?? pixiedust:

I was at AK yesterday and people were riding it. I didn't ride because I'm not a roller coaster person.

We were there from 2/4 to 2/14. It was running during the early part of our stay. We rode it twice on 2/6 and five times on the morning of the Feb 8th. A couple of days later, we heard a family on a bus complaining that they had gone to AK on 2/10 and EE was not running. We went back to AK on 2/13 in hopes of riding it again before we went home, but it was not running.

A CM told us that during soft openings, you just have to hope for the best.

The funny thing is they've already changed the Top 7 list (on resort TV) to include EE as the #1 attraction. I understand wanting to promote it, but why list this as your #1 attraction when some people may not get to ride at all during their stay?

We were there last week--it was closed 2/13 and 2/14 but was open on Thursday when we went. We rode it 3 times--it was a blast! I swear when you're going backwards in the dark it FEELS like you're going upside down. I know you don't go upside down but because it's disorienting going backwards in the dark, it feels like it. We loved it. The good part is that not everybody realizes it's open so the wait times aren't that long. The park maps still show "Future site of Expedition Everest."

We were there from 2/8 - 2/12. On 2/9, it was down..them went back on Sat 2/11 in the morning and it was a zoo! 90 minute wait time and all the fastpasses were gone for the day! Luckily a CM came by in the line and offered us 3 single rider passes. It took us about 25 minutes in the single rider line - but worth it!!

We were there 2/12-2/17. It was open a couple days during our trip. We rode it during EMH and I wish I didn't. It was way too much for me. I had a bit of a panic attack and was hyperventilating afterward. It was kind of funny (not at the time but after the fact) because the ride lets you off in the store of course. So we're walking through the store and I'm about to pass out. I'm trying to keep it together but my boyfriend knows I'm in bad shape. The CM in the store is chatting with him, typical CM banter..."was it cold up on the mountain?" blah blah. Brian was trying not be rude and was trying to talk to her while holding me up and trying not to let me really lose it. We made it outside and I got sat down and was trying to relax. A woman came up and offered me dramamine but I wasn't sick to my stomach, I was just terrified!

Anyway, I wish it was closed when we went! I'm a total rollercoaster chicken (obviously) but everyone else riding it had a ball.

Unfortunitly with it being the soft opening EE can close at anytime right now, so don't pass up a chance and ride when you can untill the Grand opening.

We were at AK this past wednesday (2/15) and we rode Everest 4 times and loved every minute of it. Wish we would have rode it a couple more times.
