Expedition Everest? Did I go upside down?

I rode Expedition Everest with my DD8 last week twice. Does it go upside down? All I know is my neck was sore for two days, but so worth it. I feel so stupid, I rode the thing twice. I should know if I went upside down.

No. LoL. You go backwards in a helix, but that's it.

I felt a little off balance myself when we got off the ride. I think I have to do it again to decide if I like it or not.

Yup, no harness ... no upside down.

EE does have a pretty steep backwards helix though, and in the dark it can be confusing. Depending on where you're sitting, it can get pretty exciting. I rode several time and I can tell you, the back cars really feel it when doing the backwards helix If you can take the sensation, going upside down shouldn't be prob at all

I asked the CM at the exit the same thing. He told me alot of people ask him that but EE does not go upside down.

i went on it with my mom and she got so mad at me when we got off cause she hates rides that go upside down, we had to ride it twice so that she would actually believe me that she didnt go upside down the first time.

My son insisted he went upside down the 1st time he rode it. He closed his eyes when it went backwards and got totally disoriented. I didn't believe him, so I closed my eyes, and where you accelerate, you kind of get that feeling. but no, it doesn't go upside down

It all depends on who you ask. If you ask my father who obviously knows everything and is an expert on all, he will swear to you that HE was upside down!

But the physics of it says no, you are not ever upside down.

It does have a similar sensation to going upside down, you are feeling the positive g-forces on your stomach as it swings you through the helixs inside the mountain. helixs and loops seem to provide similar sensations. But as others have mentioned you never go upside down.

One other point I wanted to mention, just because a roller coaster does not have shoulder harnesses does not mean it does not go upside down. There are several Schwartzkopf coasters (Scorpion at Busch Gardens, Sooper Dooper Looper at HersheyPark) that have loop(s) but no horse collar (they do have lap bars of course). The g-forces pressing on you as you go upside down keep you in your seat. In all honesty I would much rather ride a looping coaster without shoulder restraints then one with.
