Going back for ToT for a week so this is just a quick weekend trip but just couldn't pass it up.

I just love the medal - I can't wait to show it to DH when I get home from work. I already told him about it and he is excited. I am glad they gave us a preview of the medal because it really has gotten me fired up for this event!!! I also think it was a way to try and push registration so that it fills up. I am ready to hear more about the obstacle course and the scavenger hunt will be like but then again it might be more "fun" to not know what to expect!!!

Hi! Don't know how I didn't see this thread earlier in the year add DH and I to the list.... it will be both of our first Disney race and DH's first race of any type. We'll be staying at SSR and BWV from the 24th-29th... Can't wait!!!!!!

Does anyone know how big the race is? I know its at 85% capacity, but what is the capacity? How big are the Disney races usually?

If I had to guess I would guess about 4000. That is what the ToT race was and I think that is how big the Minnie is as well.

OK, I'm leaning towards running this race. I may have to go to a conference at the Contemporary Sept. 24-26, and I may stay a couple extra days to run the race.

Yeah I just booked our resort for this - we will be at Coronado Springs Sept 27 and 28th.

I really wanted to stay at All Stars to save some money but I called yesterday to the event reservations (as the Passholder and FL Res rate only goes up to the 27th) and there is no more avail. at All Stars under the event rate. I did find avail under Passholder rate but that was for 26th and 27th. I tend to like to stay the day after a race instead of the day before.

The passholder rate should be good for your entire stay as long as you check in during the discount period. Unless they have changed things lately.

Actually they have changed things Cobbler - now its a day by day rate - if the rate changes in the middle of your trip that is what you pay - the original rate no longer carries through for the duration of your stay. They even sometimes charge more for weekend nights as opposed to week nights - Bummer I know.

Sorry I haven't updated the list for so long, but I've been away from home for pretty much the last month. Anyway, it should be updated now, so check your info and if I missed anything, let me know.

Only a little more than a month to go until the race. I know we're looking forward to it. If anyone has any good ideas about a meet & greet sometime before the race, go ahead and post.

What about around lunch time at either Mara at AKL or Earl at DTD?

We don't get in until late Friday night and will be at packet pick up first thing Sat am then are open rest of day. Any other ideas?

Oops, I forgot to tell you we are staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Has anyone figured out how the transporation is going to work?

If you are staying at AKL, Coronado Springs, or All Star Sports, transportation will be provided as all 3 are listed as host hotels for the event.

Yeah they changed that as well. I know its a bummer - but oh well I still find myself going to WDW more and more!!

We aren't driving up until Saturday morning. Planning on hitting packet pick up on the way in and then check in to CSR and then to Epcot - which hopefully won't be too packed because its the first weekend of Food & Wine festival.
