A friend and I decided on a whim to register for the EEC last week after getting an e-mail about cheap airfare during that time. Super excited!

I'm trying to figure out where we'll stay, and had sort of decided on ASSp since this was a spur of the moment thing and trying to do the trip on the cheap. Then I started pricing on renting DVC pts for a studio and it's pretty comparable. Was hoping for AKV since it's one of the "official" hotels, but the studios are booked (was hoping for a value, or maybe standard.)

If we ended up staying at OKW or SSR, how would it work for the after party? I'm guessing there are no busses to those hotels since the official hotels are ASSp, POR, and AKL. Are there taxis available? Would your ride a bus to one of those hotels, then catch a bus to DTD, and then to our resort? What would you do?

Sorry I don't have an answer on this as we had a rental car. Depending on what time you left the party, you could do the host hotel to DTD to your hotel. No idea on taxis. Enjoy!

Renting a car or taking Disney transportation are pretty much your only options. I didn't see any taxis last year (although I wasn't looking for them).

If I was feeling cheap, then I'd use the bus option via Downtown Disney.

If I was tired and just wanted to get back to the hotel, I'd take a taxi. Although there may not be taxis lined up at AK, I'm sure you can call the dispatcher and have them send one out. Ask the concierge at your hotel for the taxi company's number. I've taken a taxi about 4-5 times within the last year at WDW and it's about $10-$20 including tip depending on how far you're going.

Thank you so much for everyone's suggestions - I just wanted to make sure we knew what we were doing!

Now to decide between All Stars Sports or rent points at OKW....

Don't forget it is free dining during this time too. That clinched ASSp for my friend and I. We have 3 nights and 1 day park ticket in the plan plus free dining. I think our total for that was $404 for 2 people. Not too shabby!;)
