Expedia refund

Daughter booked airline ticket to Vegas with Expedia.
She paid for travel insurance but when go to cancel it seems to give only an option for travel credit.
Is there a way to get payment back?

I think you have to wait for the airline to cancel before you can insist on a refund. Otherwise you are stuck with a credit, usually subject to a use time limit.
If your Daughter can claim under her insurance, the insurers may ask for proof that she has requested a refund and that her request was rejected by both the airline and Expedia.
It is a mess at the moment.

That's the problem with booking through a third party. You have the airline's policy AND the website's policy to contend with and sometimes the website is more restrictive.

I would call Expedia directly. Their customer service is usually pretty good.

I think it all depends on the dates and locations and it changes day by day, minute by minute at some points. I got everything back from expedia when everything was blowing up and I had to cancel last minute. I spent 5 hours on hold March 11th to cancel a March 12th trip before talking to a person, and then about another hour talking to someone who was working on numerous calls at once, but they were very helpful.
