Expectations for a Christmas Shopping Airmiles Promo?

Thought I would ask the experts here :worship:.

I will likely end up doing most of my Christmas shopping online and I was wondering if I should hold off starting in case an airmilesshops promo pops up? I know they have the 5X’s right now but I was wondering if there might be a multiplier type one? Does anyone know if that’s typical?

What about in-store promo’s? Is there usually a winter/Christmas promo?

Need to earn about 3000 more miles to get my family UO passes.

Thanks for any insights. :santa:

Hold off all your online shopping for two more weeks if you can. There should be a big promotion coming mid-November that will have online as well as in store shopping coupons to be used. The promotion can yield bigAM (last year 2000AM). What you might want to think about is having another family member (who is traveling with you) sign up for an Airmiles card so that you can collect AM for both cards and reach that goal.

It's Coming WAIT!!! Usually around Nov 14th. Many of us are making a list and checking it twice.

I'm also saving for a Big family trip to UO but not until 2020.
I have two cards(one is my son's) and usually do the promo twice.

To get an idea of what last years kind of looked like look here:

Okay, my memory is awful these days (I have a 5 month old and so I'm about 5 months behind on sleep...), but I just looked at my statement for the last year. Near the end of November, I have a ton of miles from airmilesshops online shopping. Every store has a bonus, from 5x to 15x the miles.

I think this means around black friday/cyber monday there was some kind of promotion? I can't remember if it was part of Shop the Block (I'm sure someone else will though!), but either way it's definitely worth waiting. Big bonus miles are on their way :hourglass

As everyone else had said, most definitely there will be a promo starting around the middle of November. It will include something connected to online shopping and will happen during Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales with multiplier offers.

If I don't end up stepping on someone else's toes I'll be starting and maintaining a thread dedicated to the promo that you'll be able to follow along with and join in to make sure you get the biggest bang for your buck!

YES! Black Friday and Cyber Monday were part of the promo as well as an extra big bonus that ran from Dec 13 - 17th for 15X on the ENTIRE site on top of multipliers for many of the stores.

I hope Apple ends up with a good multiplier soon. I need a new phone (mine is 7 years old and going downhill fast). I want the new iPhone XR, and I'd prefer to buy it with a lot of airmiles attached. :)

Same here except that I want to buy the Xs to replace my old SE. Right now, Apple doesn't give any AM for the Xr or the Apple watch 4 (excluded in the terms on the portal).

I didn't see that. Hmm - I might just order then. I'm still using a 4S and it's not working terribly well.

The exclusions might be removed or changed for black Friday... or not. Maybe you could order it from another partner?!?

Same! I'm getting DD10 an iPod Touch.

I'd love to get myself a new iPhone (I have a 5C that is till ticking!), but that is just not in the cards right now.

It doesn't look like any other partner is carrying it (Staples doesn't have the XR, The Source only has locked versions, and you can only buy in store). I'm going to wait a few weeks anyway, just in case the restrictions come off. I want to see it in person, since I have to make sure the size won't drive me nuts. My 4S is a 3.5 inch screen, the XR is 6.1 inches. I'm going to go into the Apple Store and see if I can hold it to determine if I like it in reality vs. just in theory.

Will the Indigo gift cards work with the multiplier promo?

If I need to buy 11 $25 cards and let's say the multiplier is 15x, it would be 11x14=154+1=155 miles?
Then I could turn around the buy the iPod touch with the cards for $249+tax and earn the 15x again on the purchase?

If you're able to either use more than 1 gift card at a time or load them into your account (I think this is a possibility with them but don't remember) then yes, that will work for shopping thru indigo! Great idea to maximize your miles :thumbsup2.

Found a better solution to buying multiple cards and then combining them (still not sure if this is even possible BTW!) you can buy an electronic one and load it with any amount up to $500. This is the type i bought during the online shopping promo and it still gave me the miles -- both when I bought it on one card and then used it on the other
