It's supposed to be a 5 year plan with Cars Land being the last piece, opening in 2012.
Do you think this expansion will this help how people feel about it? The article seems to be saying that disney is trying to enhance as Walt would have wanted it to be.
I don't want to get too deep into it on this board, because it's not really the place for in depth debate, but the bottom line is we'll have to wait a bit to see what actually gets built and how it is done.
My feeling is that this will help, but it won't solve all of DCA's problems either. The additions sound like they will be fun for the most part, and the new themeing should be an improvement on what is there now. But at the same time, none of the enhancements are particularly creative or innovative.
Disneyland isn't Disneyland just because it has some fun attractions based on Disney animated classics.
I would feel better about it if there were a few truly orignial ideas in the plans. Things of high quality and creativity that would truly separate DCA from the other parks. I get the feeling that instead of doing that, they are just going with what is safe and has a built in audience. Cars, Mermaid, Toy Story, etc.
