Expansion Plan For The Disneyland Resort

We always welcome new information. And this information is exciting to all of us.

FWIW, Allears is reporting some of the same information that has been bouncing around here lately, so to many of us it is old news. :) But welcome news nonetheless. :cool1:

For example, see www.miceage.com/allutz/al101807a.htm . This article spawned its own thread here last week. Also see www.miceage.com/allutz/al082807a.htm.

It appears that in the coming years there will be even more reasons to visit DLR.

Hi,

Haven't read all the articles, (only read the one on the Dis main page wdwinfo article). It says "multi-year" expansion project. Any Speculation regarding (about) how many years till "completion" ?

I am new to the DL board, and I have started to read about how locals feel about the DCA area of DL (in the Hydro Guy resort guide, which is a wonderful guide, by the way!) Do you think this expansion will this help how people feel about it? The article seems to be saying that disney is trying to enhance as Walt would have wanted it to be.

It's supposed to be a 5 year plan with Cars Land being the last piece, opening in 2012.

I don't want to get too deep into it on this board, because it's not really the place for in depth debate, but the bottom line is we'll have to wait a bit to see what actually gets built and how it is done.

My feeling is that this will help, but it won't solve all of DCA's problems either. The additions sound like they will be fun for the most part, and the new themeing should be an improvement on what is there now. But at the same time, none of the enhancements are particularly creative or innovative.

Disneyland isn't Disneyland just because it has some fun attractions based on Disney animated classics.

I would feel better about it if there were a few truly orignial ideas in the plans. Things of high quality and creativity that would truly separate DCA from the other parks. I get the feeling that instead of doing that, they are just going with what is safe and has a built in audience. Cars, Mermaid, Toy Story, etc.
