Exotic Rasul

Tiffany - I am so sorry you did not have a good experience. I'm a little confused by your post - you said the showers and steam rooms were coldish and had no steams. There is only one shower and only one steam room in the Raul (*I should have clarified this - my DH and I have a joke about calling it the Raul room; sorry - it is just so natural for me to call it that now) room. When we were there in September (Wonder) the steam room or Turkish bath in the Raul room was quite warm - we had to use the "foot water" a few times to remain cool. The shower in that room was also quite warm. Rainforest comes with it, so I am a little confused as to why you didn't get this. Now the steam rooms off the rain forest room were varied for us in terms of warmth and steam. And the showers being out in the open like they are in there seemed chillier to me. Anyway - I hope you'll try it again sometime and make sure they know you didn't get your champagne and RF time.

There was nothing mentioned in the spa catalog about the champagne or rainforest time, so I didn't expect it at all. I wonder if it's changed?

Yes there was the main room with the one shower - which the shower took forever to get warm. Then the other room that she said was supposed to be hot. The only time it felt warm was when I came out and the other room felt a bit colder. Definitely not HOT tho. The showers in this room were possessed as the water pressure kept changing. I sat down on a seat to wash my legs and then all of a sudden the side jets blastes strong and hit me in the face! :rotfl2:

I can't tell from you sig, were you on the Magic or the Wonder?

We did this on the Magic last week

I assume no tip is necessary as it is a self treatment? I had been booked for a spa villa for two, but this seems like a fun first experience in the spa on DCL and like a much better fit for my lack of savings so far! :O

I wasn't sure on this... so we tipped (rounded it up to $100). We figured since someone had to set it all up, explain it to us, and then clean it afterwards that maybe we should tip?? I'm interested to know what other people think.

We always list for the exact reasons that Tiffany lists below. :thumbsup2

Yes, someone has to do all that stuff, esp. the cleaning it up to get the rom ready for the next guests, so a tip is definitely warranted. :thumbsup2

We just did the Rasul last week. It was ok but I probably won't be booking it again. We got no champagne or rainforest time... and the showers and steam rooms were coldish and had no steams. It was fine and the products were nice but just not exciting as I thought it would be.

Tiffany, we did this on the 10/30 cruise also. We received no champagne or rain forest time (Just two chairs in the hallway with two plastic cups of water) and there was absolutely no steam in the room at all.

On our Wonder cruise in October 2009, we were called ahead of time and told the steam part wasn't working. We were told we could cancel without penalty or keep the appt., with 50% off the price. We kept the appt. We received champagne in glass flutes and were told we could hang out in the rain forest room as long as we liked.

If you read the DCL description, there is no mention of champagne or rainforest room time being included. Of course, though, this is what was always done in the past, so this is what we expected. Considering the fact that the table with two chairs in the hallway outside the Rasul room that we were seated in to drink our water had a plaque on it describing the Rasul treatment, I am guessing that the champagne/rainforest room bonus we all have come to expect has been eliminated. At least on the Magic, anyway.

We booked the room this summer. It was ok- I don't think we'd try it again. We did get the cups of water and the room itself was in sorry shape. Towels were stuffed into the entrace to the steam room to soak up the flood of water. The steam worked poorly. I'm not sure what I was expecting. It was nice to be alone with DH. We liked all the products. It's not a very comfortable space. I think I'd try the spa villa next cruise.

OK I'm happy to hear that my description was accurate but sad that we seem to have missed out. The steam would have made a big difference! So you also cruised on the Wonder last month? It's disappointing that they took away a few things that essentially cost them nothing in terms of service or product. :confused3 And also that they just passed off the "broken" room at the full price!

I too, want to book this. We are going on our first Disney cruise in a couple of weeks.
I have one question which may sound stupid. What is the door like? Is it glass or a solid door? I have a problem with claustrophobia...if it's like a typical sauna door I may freak out.
Thanks in advance for any responses

I didn't see where anyone responded to this. Sorry if I missed it and I'm answering twice. The door is a big solid door with no window. I remember when they shut it I suddenly felt like I was in a tomb! But the room is a nice size with a lounge area, steam room, and shower. I quickly got over being shut in and had a wonderful time! :cloud9:

Sorry, typo! We cruised the Wonder in October 2009. I fixed it in my post above.

It was definitely a different experience this time around.

I'm really wondering whether or not we should cancel this.

Are there any differences between the room on the Magic verses the Wonder??? I'm wondering if the room in the Magic is a little more worn because it's older.

Having been in both one year apart, I can say that they appeared to me to be completely identical.

The only difference I noted was that on the Wonder, the one shower that is located inside the steam room (as opposed to the shower room that is separated from the steam room by a glass door) had a shampoo and conditioner dispenser mounted on the wall of the shower and on the Magic, there was no dispenser. They left pump bottles of shampoo and conditioner on the floor of the shower for us to use if we wished to.

We just did this on the Wonder last week and it was great. The steam room was working perfectly, almost too hot. Afterward we were given 2 glasses of champagne and as much time in the rain forest room as we wanted.

We would book it again in a heartbeat.

The room with only one shower was the steam room??? This was the COLDER room for us! YIKES

If I remember correctly, you can book it for up to three.

I just booked it for our honeymoon, but it wouldn't let me book more than one person. When I tried to go in and make a separate reservation for my husband, the time was blocked out as "unavailable." If the room has space for up to three, and I have it reserved... why won't it let me put him on the reservation? Our Couples' Choice is in the system for both of us so it's not a glitch on their end.

You only have to list one person on the reservation and the price includes your husband too. We are on the same cruise and I booked the Rasul with my husband as well! Congratulations and hopefully we can see the two of you at our Dis meet.

After reading this thread I just booked a session for our Dec Magic cruise. Although, I'm wondering if I should ask the spa if champagne and the rainforest room will be included. That seems like the perfect way to end a really fun treatment...been if it is 8 in the morning!:dance3:

Go on, live dangerously, it hardly breaks the bank, I love it, but try it for yourself.

They are NOT included. First time I just went in to spa, last twice they kinda escorted me to the reception area to sign for it, first time they left it outside the room for us to sign.

We did this last week on the Wonder. It was nice, but we felt that the time went by so fast. We also did get champagne and as much time in the rainforest room as we wanted. Do believe that we will book this again the next time!:thumbsup2

I ma keeping my fingers croosed that they have the champagne & rain forest room on our Magic cruise in Jan. ! That sounds like such a nice way to end the experience! :lovestruc We have never done it, but my husband is all excited about it! :thumbsup2
